February 6, 2001- -10:29pm- Hallo, er, long time. Here is a pic i did for the next tutorial. I've saved a whole bunch of in progress shots and will be compiling it in to a tutorial one day. Click here and here. September 7, 2000- -12:47am- Another pic done for this interesting thread in the forums. September 6, 2000- -3:04am- Added a new drawing to the gallery. This one is a quick self-portrait i did after some others posted theirs in the forums. I uhm...didn't fix up my hair before drawing that. August 29, 2000- -12:13pm- Two updates in a month! . Added new artwork to the gallery. I finally got some time to work on some "for fun" art. This piece was inspired by the portraits rich people got during the middle ages. I exaggerated the face quite a bit just to see how it'd play out. Not really sure why i drew this. August 1, 2000- -10:13pm- Oh look he updated. Yeah, so much for the light at the end of the tunnel. Don't listen to me, i have no concept of time and how to find it . The last couple months have been crazy, a lot has been going on, i was out of town a few times for a week at a time. Work is fun, though it takes up much of my time and when i get home my little blue glass ball of drawing mana is run out so i rarely feel like drawing for fun. Here is something I did a while ago that i never finished, i really like the concept and would like to have another go at finishing it, most likely i'll change the composition a bit though (and that arm he's resting on is odd). My sincere apologies for not checking my own forums for so long, i'll do my best to get back to that again. These guys are too funny. April 6, 2000- -2:24am- Had some server woes, if you sent e-mail sometime today, please send again as it was likely bounced back. March 17, 2000- -1:32am- Didnt want to go a whole month without an update so, here is an update. Ok, and a new drawing. I wanted to speed draw for fun tonight so i did this. Its refreshing not spending hours on a drawing every once in awhile. Feburary 19, 2000- -12:19pm- Added a couple of old drawings back from 1997 to the gallery Feburary 15, 2000- -12:20am- Added a new drawing to the gallery. I sat down to draw something else a couple hours ago, but this image came into my mind instead so i followed through and finished it. Kinda in the spirit of Valentines Day i guess, hehe January 29, 2000- -3:49pm- Added the loonygames intro image i did a month or so ago to the gallery, resized it to fit 800x600. January 12, 2000- -2:10am- Forums work again! Sorry for the down time. January 8, 2000- -2:10am- I got back from my trip a couple days ago. It was fun Happy 2000 by the way! Letting all of you know that i've temporarily taken the Forums down because of some errors that are being created and user accounts are getting corrupted. Tech support from UBB has told me to close it to prevent other accounts from being corrupted. They are helping me figure out whats wrong. Anyway, hopefully the problems will be fixed within the next day or more. I'll let you know when everythings working again. December 22, 1999- -2:22am- Vacationing in Miami, it started raining as soon as i got here . Anyway, I'll have e-mail access but not that often. I may have a little time to start getting back to the forums and catch up on the old questions, but we'll see. Have a happy holdiay! Just thought to update here to let people know, this also refers to the forums which i haven't been able to frequent lately. Anyway, hopefully things will clear up in the next few weeks; so we'll see. November 28, 1999- -9:16pm- Did up a intro image for the latest loonygames. I'll add that to the gallery later in the week. It'll be the same size though cause what you see there is the size of the original. November 20, 1999- -2:26pm- Had some server upgrades today, hence the down time. Things should be up and running fine now. November 18, 1999- -11:59pm- I'm 21! Woo-hoo!!! I feel no different, so oh well Anyway, I thought i'd update since it's been awhile. I added a new cover to the gallery that i did for Game Developer Magazine. Its actually the old Alien slave image i did a couple years ago, and i just touched it up, added some detail and changed the background. Click here to see it. By the way, I added an additional page to the Darth Maul drawing in the gallery that shows (sort of) the steps i went through to get to the final image, i found it on the HD that didnt crash. Click here to see. October 22, 1999- -11:44am- American Beauty, Three Kings, and Fight Club. 3 movies you HAVE to see. After a month or so of absolutely nothing good to see in the theaters these came along. About time we get some quality films. -3:04am- Message board is up. Please read the two messages in each forum when you get in. You will need to register (FREE) in order to post messages or reply to messages. I've set this for security purposes, it shouldnt take more than a minute to sign up. Let me know if you have any suggestions. I hope it works. Play nice October 16, 1999- -5:04pm- One of my harddisks crashed. I didn't lose any of the message board stuff but it was the disk with all my art on it, and so i was annoyed and didn't work on my page at all lately. I'll get back to it this week. October 3, 1999- -3:18pm- Today marks 2 years since i've opened this website. Thanks to everyone who's supported me and written me encouraging letters. I really appreciate it. I just wish i could have gotten back to all of them. This last year went by WAY WAY too fast. It seems that once you finish school time just goes 5 times faster than normal. Which bugs me. Anyway, I was hoping to open the message board today to mark the 2 year point, but i just got my FTP up a couple days ago and don't know if i can have it ready today. September 25, 1999- -6:15pm- Having some ftp problems, i'm able to update this in a round about way. Anyway, just writing to say that i've been working on putting up a messageboard soon (hopefully within the next 2 weeks). I figure thats a much better way to answer peoples questions, comments, flames, instead of answering individual e-mails (which i dont do nearly as much as i should). Discussion on the board can be answers to questions that may arise about my process if it wasnt clear in the tutorial, or just a general forum about digital art, games and whatever the heck else comes up. Also I noticed many people ask questions in the guestbook, and the message board will be a better place to have those posted and answered, since i don't think this main page would work as well for answering guestbook questions. Once i get my regular ftp connection fixed i'll work on that in the evenings and hopefully it'll be up by mid-October. I'm gonna give it a test run and hopefully it will be a good place for both me and those who visit my site. Right now i'm thinking of having 2 or 3 forums, one dealing with questions about how i draw, another forum just about general digital and gaming art and and maybe another generic forum for posts that have nothing to do with the first two (not sure about this last one though). wow, long post. September 12, 1999- -2:51am- Go see The Iron Giant as well, it deserves a lot more attention than its getting. It was really a great movie and its good to see some quality full length toons for a change. September 9, 1999- -9:99am- Just cause i love it when this happens, i'm gonna update today: ITS 9/9/99!!!!! Also another real cool movie i just saw is Run Lola Run. It came out awhile ago, but if its still playing in your area, i recommend checking it out. August 16, 1999- -12:11am- One final new drawing added to the gallery for this 4 week run. Kinda in honor of the last eclipse of the millenium which just happened a few days ago. It was a great movie, and the kid in it is a wonderful actor, he should get a Oscar or something. Go see it! It's a drawing of Aurra Sing, a bounty hunter from the Star Wars universe. She was in Episode 1 for about 2 seconds, but is supposed to play a bigger role in Episode 2. Click here to see it! In reponse to something i read in the guestbook, this site is not "Dhabih's Weekly Drawingf". I work fulltime during the week and the weekends are usually busy. When I do get a chance however I do spend time drawing on the computer and I post those when i'm ready to post them. It'd be cool if i could just draw all day and have something new to show every week but thats just not possible. That said, however, for the next month i guess it will be "Dhabih's Weekly Drawing", but just for a month July 19, 1999- -12:32am- Hi! Since you've all been so wonderfully patient, i've decided to post a bunch of new pictures REAL soon. Not one! Not two! No, not even three....but four new drawings..(you like how i make this sound like its a big deal or something....hah, i sound like an infomercial). I'll be putting up the first one in the next week or so, then after that one new one each week for a month. I have 2 done, and 2 80% completed. Stay tuned! June 25, 1999- -1:28am- Switched some menu images on the left, just for a change. No that wasn't the redesign i was talking about June 10, 1999- -1:32am- New Image! Finally. Like StarWars? Check this out. Been experimenting with some new ways of drawing, and i'm liking this new way better. More on that later. Anyway, for now, here is the new picture. This actually isn't 100% complete, I had done about 80% of it and havent touched it in a couple weeks, so finally i just decided to release it since it didnt look like i'll be able to spend much more time on it. The horn area and the back of his head is where i would have liked to spend more time on. But oh well, i think this way could work well anyway. May 31, 1999- -2:39am- Hm, i think its time for a site redesign. May 19, 1999- -4:37pm- Saw the first showing of Star Wars Episode 1 last night at midnight, it was really really fun to watch. There was some small things i thought could have been left out, but overall it was just a really great movie. I was afraid i'd be disappointed but i'm glad to say i wasn't. And it seemed from the reaction the rest of the people in the theater had, everyone else liked it too. May 11, 1999- -4:52am- Back from China, got back just in time to miss the anti-US protests and stuff. Hopefully that'll calm down over there soon. Besides that, i had a great time there. I thought i had beat the jet lag, but i just woke up now and its just 4am....so i still am not on a regular schedule., ah well. April 24, 1999- -2:07am- Going to Beijing for a couple weeks, no updates till then. later April 13, 1999- -1:18pm- Black & White is one of the games i'm really looking foward to this/next year. April 7, 1999- -3:48pm- Team Fortress Classic has just been released today, so if you have Halflife, Get it! its FREE!!!! Make sure you read the intructions on how to play, i hopped on a couple servers and noticed people just kinda running around shooting everybody. Remember this is a team oriented action game. To download it click here. March 31, 1999- -11:41pm- GO SEE The Matrix!!!!! That is one seriously awesome movie! One of the most entertaining flics i've seen in a while. Every review i've read so far has been positive and they're right! And dont wait for it on video, it just isnt the same. March 15, 1999- -6:41pm- Some of you know by now, i've started working at Valve Software, the folks who made the award winning game,Half-Life.
