everything seem very flat, and the forms arent very interesting and not quite correct, i think initialt is completely right, just take a pencil and draw and study. this will help i lot, keep on image ...

the leaves of the flower seems a bit... lets say plastic
and the hard lines in the eyes do not fit in the smooth look of the rest of the picture, just my 2 cents.

i think the charackter and the bg, both are very good. but actually they do not really fit together in my opinion. perhaps with only doing clear outlines at the charackter the pic would look better.
