Wow. None of the threads I started with my artwork in it had this many posts. . ..

People seem to be getting the idea that I want a spineless, weeping woman who has to cling to me for dear life. That is really not the case. I think Ivey expressed it the best; it's about WANTING to be with someone. Call me a fool, but yes, I do believe in fairytales and romance. I've been this way all my life, and I don't think it'll change. Sure, we all need to be independent and involved with our own passions in life, but I think if you aren't capable of feeling intense love for another to the point of willing to die to save that person from danger, then that love really isn't all that remarkable. However, people do have different priorities. Some people are more self-centered than others, while some are more loving and giving. The trick is to find the one that matches YOU. In my case, she would definitely have to be a romantic, passionate, loving person.

The whole "don't show that you're too interested" thing really bothers me. To me, that's is basically playing games, and for me, love is too precious for that kind of sexual politics. Love is the most beautiful, intense, fulfilling emotion/feeling a person can experience in a lifetime(this includes love for family and friends). Why cheapen it with mind games? I do agree with Enayla that a bit of mystery is exciting, but if it's to the point of wondering if the other person is interested at all, then it becomes tedious.

Well, I guess the best way to clarify how I really feel about love is to post this thing I wrote about two years ago(I write a lot in my freetime. Sometimes more than I paint). I wrote it when I was asking myself just exactly what I was looking for in a relationship. Here it is:

It all started very simple: I kept an eye out, and Id find her. Maybe well brush shoulders in a bookstore; maybe well spot each other from across racks of used CDs; maybe her car will smash into mine while we both tap our steering wheels to the beat of the same song; maybe shell be the caller with the wrong number, but the right timing. Infinite possibilities, with one result: the two halves will come together and form a perfect whole. Seamless, intertwined, inseperable. In that instant, the world will cease to exist, time will stop in its flow, and our breaths will be held, in awe and disbelieve that we should be so lucky.

Once together, never apart again.

Understanding without words; gentle touches that soothes the soul; unrestrained gazes that connects the heart, and yearning embraces that sears with passion. No one will come between two kindred spirits bound together as one. Not even heaven or hell. Through every human emotions and aspirations, we will grow together, mending one anothers faults, inspiring enlightenment of the soul, and challenging each others capacity for love, compassion, trust, and faith.

So, with dreams in my mind and hopes in my heart, I lived, waiting for the right signs.

Once in a blue moon, I see proof that what I seek is not impossible. Its out there; Ive seen it with my own eyes. The lucky ones, they walk hand in hand, knowing they have found sanctuary and bliss in each other. Their happiness was here to stay, and their love was unshakable.
If I have no luck seeking her out, then I must wait. Maybe shes got better luck than I do, but it doesnt matter who finds who first. As long as we find each other. . ..

Well, not to make Ivey and Faith seem too lonely in posting their mugs, I'll join in.

BTW, Ivey, you look wonderful. Don't mind what others say. Faith, good save. You managed to redeem yourself. What zit? I don't see any.

Yeah...I know I kinda look like a girl. Leave me alone.

FaithInChaos: A crash course in manners wouldn't kill you. The difference between an evil genius and an asshole is that the evil genius has charm and style. You lack both in great quantities.

Socar: *bursts out laughing* I'm not sure how well I measure up to your requirements, but thanks all the same. You're not so bad, yourself. *nudge, nudge, wink, wink*

Personally, I've always thought that in a world full of bastards and bitches, Enayla is one of the few Wonderful People out there, and I'd give anything to be her private giant teddy bear. But that might be to cheesy and /or affectionate to post in a public place, so I won't. Err... yeah.

*crawls back into his cave.*

Heh, well...I was reading my post, and it did sound a little...snobby. Really, I'm never serious, though, and the guidelines.... Essentially, as long as he ain't with me for my money, and has a large cranial capacity, I'm happy. I review potential applicants on a case-by-case basis.... *Snicker* Sorry. I can never be non-flippant.

You know what strikes me the most in this amazing thread ?
You're all single ! or are the happily mated/married/haremized ones pretty silent on this subject :)) ?
I hope he'll never read this but for 14 years, Alex has been my mate/lover/husband/best friend/coworker and the only thing that is in our life now and was on my previous "ideal man" list is that I wanted someone who'd say "I need you because I love you, not the other way round".. *L*
The rest takes care of itself, it's just a waltz. :)

I'm not single(/available).
Yet.
But the way things are going, it won't be long. Then I can join the mass of lonely people here.

Actually, believe it or not, I started this thread because I wanted to find out what other people's taste was like in women/men. I was curious whether or not artists shared similar tastes when it comes to romance. I had NO idea it would turn into "gathering of the lonely souls."

hmm.. okay if faustgfx showed his mug here I can make a second pic attempt too (damn geocities, geocities is the devil)

so.. second try.. lo and behold:

if it doesnt work this time then the internet simply does not WANT me to show my hideous mug here (which i could understand).

p.s. you might have to turn the brightness of your monitor down due to excessive paleness :]

hm...my type....well, what'd i look for:

not a slut, has to have a personality, or atleast these qualities: funny, sarcastic/cynical, can carry on a conversation, can be nice and sweet at times, mildly twisted sense of humor, etc. It'd be nice for her to be independant, obsessed with art and music, likes animals, and um....I'll stop there before I start becoming extremely picky.

Oh so tempting to join the picture fest...

faustgfx: errm... dont know. (typical 'how do i know what i think, before i read what i posted' posting of mine)

...

to the original topic:

2 main points:
-its necessary that she and me do listen same music, for concerts, etc. plus it would be annoying to hear country or folk music around permanently.
-some kind of independance to do things for ones own.

hard 2 find
