this isn't very original, haven't had time to do much art except at lunch...."missing meals getting skinny". despite, i'm having fun, and i think it's coming okay being that it's my first serious attempt to try and complete a digital painting.
anyhow, it wasn't originally supposed to look like lara croft....but i think it does now...*bad*. the left eye (her right), and the nose needs correction. the gun hand is stoopid looking, i know. other than that, any feedback or whatever is welcomed.
oh and the peppermint dookie, nothing serious....fun in painter.
should i try and maybe turn the last one into a painting? |

o' and the "i hate ny" thing has nothing to do with sept 11th, it was born out of the puke taste i get in my mouth when i think about the whole fashion oriented mtv hype typed culture that surrounds the concrete anus. nothing personal. =. |

besides the nose and eyes that you already mentioned , I think it's looking a little flat. it could use more tone variations. are you working from a reference? if not you did a pretty good job of getting the basic colring down but it might help to get a reference picture to get a more 3d look. even if its not the exact pose . just so that you can get an idea of the flesh tone range. i like your drawings too. |

i worked a bit from a pic for the clothing, other than that no references. i had a bit of trouble with the flesh, just couldn't get it right for some reason. i've decided to just put this thing under for something more of my actual style. this one has not even a single drop of my blood in it, just getting used to the tablet i guess.
thanks for the advice hovair. i'll work on that a bit and try and try to improve by my next attempt. =)

heres a good tip for you soilborn, don't know if you already know it.
when drawing in the eyes for a character, there is exactly one eye of space between the two eyes.
also the edges of the mouth, those little dimples on either side of ones mouth
line pretty much exactly bang on with the pupils of ones eyes.
use measurement to get your faces more bang on.
i know i have a few works on my site that might be good reference.
then again, i have mistakes that i just leave there, cause im too damn busy with school to fix personal stuff ! ha
keep it up
nice beginning, lets see it with a bit more... |

thanks anthony. i didn't know that about the "dimples", atleast not in those terms. i don't know what happens to me when i attempt to do digital, i just become stupor! i have this image in my head all cool and stuffed...but when i go to paint it with the tablet....*blah dookie*. i think it has something to do with color, and lack of practice. doesn't really happen when i wacom in black and white. i guess it's just a new medium to me and i need work, not to mention these images aren't even remotely like the art i usually do. but with time and study...yes? =) |
