I like it. But the posture...? Does it really look as if the dragon is FLYING?
Anyways! Can't wait to see it finished.
Oh! You already fixed the 'first mistakes'! I c |

Well this is a dragon who is very aware of its image, you know. So it just *had* to be posing...
More seriously, I think I know what you mean. It's one of my problems, the lack of dynamism in the picture.
Guess I'll just have to remember that for next time |

Hi,
Everything works for me in this pic...it reminds me of Everyone Knows What a Dragon Looks Like, but it is different and fresh at the same time. The color selection is solid, nice stylized work and the perspective/depth is solid. I reallly like the way you did the mist/clouds...for my measely $.02, I have no crits Keep on a artin'!!!

Enough lurking, a bit of posting is nice, once in a while.
So ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my first post
This is the original, drawn on a piece of paper, real size must be 4cm x 8cm. The awful shadows come from the fact that the paper was wet after I did an attempt at watercolour...
This one is the result after I drew over the original and did a few things to get a clean lineout (I created a path, to be exact).
This picture is 33% of the one I am working with.
This is a detail of the castle.
And this is a detail of the dragon.
Just to show you what the lineout looks like when at 100%
Today I was taken by one of those "bursts of inspiration", so I dont have much steps to show :/
This is where I am now.
The road is still long before I call it done, but hey, this is the WIP section right ?
//edit: first post, first mistakes...

Hello all, it's been a while, I'm bringing my talentless self back to the forum... actually, what Am i saying, I probably don't know any of you... ah.. anyway.
Looks very nice...
Conceptually speaking I would do One of two things.
1)Make everything as flat as possible, for a chinese mural feel.
2)Go for more realism, to do which I might suggest putting more tension in the wings, make it look like a muscle is being used.
Have you sen Riegn of fire? Excellent film with Physically correct dragons. |

Hey I am glad someone noticed the "Chinese" style my drawing is based on.
That's part of the reason I went for non realistic at first, and the reason my dragon is more posing than actually flying.
I guess I should go all the way, but I want to practice my colouring skills, which I have always lacked...
Then again, redoing the wings is not too hard for the moment. I guess I'll have to give it a try.
Thanks for the comments |

I like it. Just one thing to me is that it seems as if the wings are a lil bit small to actually have lift for the mass of the dragon itself. Then again who am I to say anything about what a dragon looks like, i'm no expert (then again who is ). Hope to see the final product |
