Hey this guy's no pretty boy....um...nice image Enayla. I really like the hair and eyes....I was sure this guy was Leonardo DeCappro or whatever that guys name is...until I see you reference. Nice work.

As to the rest, the smoothness of the face is part of my style. It just is. I'm not aiming for truly realistic pieces - I don't try to imitate pastels, oils, water colours, or anything of the sort. I use the computer as a separate tool and nothing else - and this look is what I always tried to achieve with traditional media but never quite reached where I am today.

So, basically, when you see one of my images, remember this:

• Smooth, unnatural looking skin is part of the style, much like big noses or huge ears might be part of someone else's style.
  
• Long, flowing hair is also something I like to create, and it rarely obeys the laws of physics.
  
• Pretty (often unnaturally so) faces.
  
• Sparklies and glittery stuff.
  
• Colours. Yeah, I sketch in colours, so they're very important. Often one colour scheme followed throughout the picture - like in this case, bronze/green/gold.
  
• You won't see any imitation of traditional media in my images. If I want an oil paint look, I'll use oil paint, I won't try to achieve that on my computer. Just seems like a whole lot of waste of time to me.
  
• If any of this doesn't appeal to you� well� tough luck. *heheh*
  

(Edit) Oh, and if I REALLY wanted a completely photo-realistic image of a cute elf boy... I'd just go find a gorgeous guy, glue a couple of Spock ears on him, and snap a couple of pictures

Nice piece, the hair is the best. It seems you rused the background with the default photoshop light effects but I like it all the same. The composition and such worked out great. The ears and the clothing make him look like an 'elf' or something. Your style gives it a big 'fantasy' vibe. Good-job.

Err... not a single filter, or light effect, or anything like that was used here.

The light beams in the background are my own little invention and has nothing to do with Adobe Photoshop's built in light crap - it's been ages since I last used that.

I have no idea where people are getting all these Leo DiCraprio ideas from. It boggles the mind. Well, it would boggle the mind, but it doesn't really bear thinking about.
