Woohooo... it's done!
To sign in for next game. My mail's still [email protected]... Just blend edges next time.
@Vesuvius: Thanks I had a good border as start
@EviLToYLeT: i didn't join back in the day.. so this is my contribution. Would be cool to see that thread come to life again. Same with the nice mech thread from the very beginning...
[edit]: oh, and Rag. You should make a full size piece of that... very moody

What a rad result. Great job everyone, and thanks to Nex and Awetopsy.
Whens the next one? With practice we could have the whole image blend nicely, that would be so cool. |

Is someone else hosting the wallpaper versions of the final product? The links in the first post are dead.
Also, where are the rules and stuff that you used for constructing this? I saw the post asking for contributors, but couldn't find anything on what information each particapant gets when they start their tile and whatnot... just curious.

Ahh.. The famed Essobie from Rocket Arena...
(THE mod that ate my freetime)
welcome to one the best artist's forums around.
The rules are simple: The orginizers pick a theme, in this case armageddon, and begin to assign tiles to volunteers. as the tiles get submitted, the next person gets 15 pixels of either 2,3, or 4 of their bordering tiles to blend their own interpetation of the theme.
Nobody knows what the other tiles look like (except the lucky organizers) until the finished product is posted. If you do a search for "Sijun tiles game" the first one version 1.0, may have a better description of how it works. Or wait untill the guys who ran the last one reply, either Nex or Awetopsy.
If i left something out, they can explain it better. Welcome to dhabih's forum. |

Essobie: The problem is with the geocities servers.
try to hit reaload for some times until it shows up.. they have some strange doentime server problem now.
to the game in general:
basically what Rhytmeen said.
Some start to draw a tile, and send it to the organizers. Then the organizers send the borders (about 15 pixels) of those tiles out to others.
those try to blend their image with the borders they got. and so forth.
the whole idea is basically from http://tiles.ice.org where i have seen this first and thought it would be fun to try that here too.
you could do a search on "sijun tiles game" in the work in progress section to find out more about it all. |
