That is a sweet pic... some kind of a twisted background would give it a really cool feel. I like your style, though. Good work. |

yeah about the twisted background, i tried to put some color with gradient, melting red and green with black, without details, and its too different from Alice's style ...the solution i would like to choose would be to put a scary background, with twisted architecture...And of course the cheshire cat :)))
But as usual, i might not get back to work ... have no time for that! |

My first sugestion would be is to go back and give a little variation in her line wait. not much but sum. This will give her a little more wait and substans to the picture and realy bring her to life. Nice pic by the way.
note only use a thicker line to seperate things. ie. thicken the out line. ie do not thiken details like in her face or clothes.

Nice drawing!
"Then she set to work nibbling at the mushroom (she had kept a piece of it in her pocket) till she was about a foot high: then she walked down the little passage: and then-she found herself at last in the beautiful garden, among the bright flowerbeds and cool fountains."
Jason- were you in Hawaii too? |

Check out the newest issue (april issue) of Game Developers magazine. There is a postmortem article on the game from Rogue Entertainment, entitled American McGee's Alice. The main charcater looks alot like your pic, and there are some concept samples of the game in the article, which has some funky architecture in it....
Just curious did you use this game as an inspiration for your drawing?

Ok thanks a lot for the advice about thick lines and waist ... thats what i have i mind...if i can catch some time, ill update...
And yes this is directly inspired from American Mcgee's Alice game, cause i fell in love with this girl, twisted mind and twisted graphics, the game itself isnt really good, but the graphics really strike me...don't you ?

yeah I agree the imagery that I've seen from the game looks awesome. Haven't had the chance to play the game or even see it in game form, but from what I have seen print wise in the realm of promotion towards the game it does look good. I was actually looking at that particular issue of Game Dev Mag (that i mentioned) with Alice on the cover when I clicked into your image, and I said "Hey that looks awfully familiar!!!"
But good work, love to see you finish it, maybe give it some of those Vertigo like swirls, a'la the Alfred Hitchcock film in the background...

I was gonna say you captured american mcgee's intended sinisterness very well. Cool stuff. |

Hey Obi-one,
Your pic reminds of the movie Pet Semetary (based on a Stephen King book). Where the wife comes back looking for the husband. Maybe, she needs a pair of lucky "rabbit's feet" in her other hand.
Radiater.
ps. Is that what Lorena Bobbitt looks like? |
