Update is below, about the update : it is my first selfportrait, and I know the look is worth a good laugh, but I would like some constructive critiscism.

Stop posting your images in everyone else's thread stneil777. That's what your own threads are for. It's getting extremely old.
Chalker - Try adding some more contrast to your image. Everything is pretty monochrome at the moment. Add in some dark darks and light lights. You look kinda worried in your pic

it think it came out pretty good. I have done so many portraits but for some reason i have never done my own self i think i should sometime.

Okay then, I laughed my butt of when I saw Synj's reply.. indeed I look that way, you only notice that when you look a second time at the painting..
The painting is done from a mirror and not from a photograph, and that's the way I looked at the mirror when drawing.
It was difficult to draw highlights and dark tones, because my workspace is located in the corner, with no direct light, so everything was very ambient..
I try to update the pic today ..

Looking better, chalker!
synj post was pretty funny...
The face seems to missing some cheek bones and maybe add some more colors to your skin tone.
Overall, it is coming along great - keep up the good work and post the finished product.
