isnt this an automatic process? I mean I could do this in photoshop given 30 minutes to tinker and find the technique (adjusting levels, and then solarizing/ pasturizing or something to make it look all contrastey?
come on man, you're better than this.... |

Dixter: Thanks I like it.
Shahar2k: It is actually a levels trick i learned last night while playing around. The pictures are my own.
LOL. I know what you are trying to say but I don't think you are right. I think because I do stuff like this it gives me more of a wealth of resources to pull from when I make art. More breath as an artist. If i do the same style over and over that gets tiresome. So i try new stuff. Weither that stuff is complicated to do or not dosen't dictate weither it is good art. I just like to create art...period. This is a style that pople have been dong to photographs for years...I wanted to try and duplicate it in photoshop. I don't think that makes it any less of art. |

Nice, I prefer the second one. The top one has too much detail for me, whereas I think the style works better with bolder, less detailed photos.
Well done. |

i agree with shahar2k on this one. sure it may be art, but i think of art as a specified craft, where thought and emotion is placed into the canvas. not photographs altered by filters. |

while i do think these pictures are pretty cool, i do agree with shahar2k that this isn't your best work. i think you have proven yourself as a great artist, so i dismiss the small amount of work put into (the non-photography portain) of these pics. i guess what i'm trying to say is that if anyone other than you (or someone of you're skill level) had posted this, i would not be interested in it at all...
hope you get my drift

You know, fellas, Photoshop has all these expensive features built into them for a reason. It still requires some effort and artistic thought to put something out like this, and is therefore ARTistic. You could just as easily say that graphite is a weak media, because you can erase it. He took the picture, he had to find out how to do what he did, it's his creation.
Now, if I were to do something like this, I would duotone it until I got it exactly where I wanted it to. Then I'd 16 bit the channels, and push the contrast to the max.
Keep the number of values in a picture like these to a minimum. I count roughly 5 (values aren't always solid colors), which is way too many for something as stark as this.
That grey sky in the second picture is utterly annoying as well. It should be much, much brighter than that.
Anyways, use less values, increase contrast, and remember to respect correct lighting principles. |

heh yah, I was just saying you are briliant with the photomanips, (the comic!) hehe and I see your point, but at least the photos are good, and photography IS art, it's the art of composition, which is hard enough a concept to grasp even on it's own |
