Hehe, a Vampirella pose. Great drawing. The stone arc looks like a cardboard prop, though. The contrast between the super artwork of the girl and the lousy background is too great to go unnoticed. If you could do the same magic to the bg as you did to the vampire, this one's perfect. |

lol @ Morbid Guy. Aria is totally hot.
As for the pic, it's bloody awesome. Love the grey/blue tones in her skin and her tattoo marking around her belly button. A great touch!
So did you use any references or is this all out of your head? Either way, it's a great pic. |

Raist, thats a damn good illustration I must concur but the stone arch does look 2 dimensional and flat. Add perspective, let us see the other faces of the arch a little, other than that don't obsess on detailing the background anymore. You have a great rendering here. Do you use photoreference and if so for what elements in the illustration? What do you leave up to the imagination? I am in awe of your rendering ability.

the body is way off. The way it is drawn her elbow would be at her waist and her hand down to her shin. She would be either a migit or a monkey vampire.
hope i could be of some help.

Very cool picture. My only critique is that she doesn't realy look like a vampire without the long teeth, don't you agree ? If i wouldn't have read the title of your picture i wouldn't have known.
The girl looks just beautifull, could you post some "in-progress" images ? |

jome:
Thanks man.
Yeah the background was last minute. I didn't put much time into it as I should have.
Morbid Guy:
Yes photo reference was used for this.
The band wanted a a dark picture with hot model
What better model for a vampiress?
Twacle:
I tried making some sharp teeth on her but it made her look like she had an overbite and took away from her looks
Sure I'll upload & post some in progress shots.
jasonN:
Yes reference was used for the figure.
Unfortunately she was not available to model for
*gets shoe thrown at head from wife*
If she or any other model was available to model for me, my wife would have my head!
jcFIG:
Thanks man
The sketch of the figure was copied from a nude photo.
I also referenced the photo for lighting on the figure.
The problem with the arch is that if I make the underside of it more 3d it will look like it's leaning back.
I wanted it to look straight on but I may angle it a bit so it's more convincing

thumperbunny5:
The proportions on this needed to be perfect.
I overlayed the sketch over the photo to check proportion errors and everything was in place.
Is it the lighting/shadows or the colors that is making it look off? |

Awesome picture.
Looks like one of those "heavy metal" covers in more ways than one...
If the background were to have a redder tone I think might look nicer. I'm not too fond of the purple. |

But jokes aside, why is she standing in an deserted doorway a mile from a castle? Almost naked in the cold of the night... She would be at the castle feeding on noble blood I thought... |

hehe seedberg maybe it's just a really small castle behind a small hill behind her? |

Amazing piece! I think it's great. I really can't think of anything else to say that someone else hasn't said already. :P
Thumperbunny5: I've checked with multiple people on this in the past, as I know everyone's proportioned differently, but all of us (females) have noticed that our elbows are exactly even with our waists. That's normal, and she IS proprtioned correctly. Also, it wouldn't make her hand fall as low as her shin. As with all of us, her finger tips would be a few inches above the knee...
