Just a word to the wise here....
There is a Flash proof of concept virus out there. It's not really dangerous. In fact, it only affects Flash developers who have the standalone player installed that comes with the Flash application. But someone can easily create a more evil version of it, and it is semthing that you should be aware of.
So anytime that you actually download a Flash .swf file, make sure you play it in your browser (a la drag and drop) and don't double-click it.
I am definitely not suggesting that Tron's file is a virus. His file is 8.75 Megs, so it has to be downloaded (instead of streamed in the browser). I just thought you guys might want to know.
Here's more info.... http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/ts/documents/swf_clear.htm
------------------
Sorry to hijack your post Tron. I am downloading the file right now. I'll let you know what I think of it.
Thanks for posting some Flash stuff.

The flash files don't get infected necessarily, the just are just created to do bad things.
But I have checked out your Flash piece and its really good. Nice use of a video file in there too. Can you explain what that is? It looks like light coming through venetian blinds, and the interplay of the two windows.
I also liked how you showed the path of the wind moving along the hill.
The only critique I would have is that you should put a BACK arrow in there. I wanted to be able to go forwards and backwards through the interface.
Did you do your 3D in Swift3D?
You can save a heap of file size if you go back through and clean up all of your lines when you get your 3D animation back into Flash. It's a real pain and it takes forever, but the results are substantial.
I wish I knew any German and I wish I knew more about Architecture (I went to school for Industrial Design). But I think its a great piece.
Good work.

hi tom
at least I know what you have been doing in weimar all the time
Concerning the design of the site there are some small things that bother me( the forward arrows are hard to see for example)
I think you did a good job on the whole project though it seems like you ran out off time at this project and had to hurry.
The things I like the most are :Studie zur Lichtstimmung;
Detailstudie:Lattenrost und Windschaufel (--->very cool fade out to the very cool movie); Assoziazionsbild(-->That one isn't made by you, is it?) ; Stimmungsbilder.
Hope to see more from you
PS:I already phoned to you but nobody answeres the phone |

thanks for your crits!
first of all a small-size-screenshot,
for all of you, who dont want to download the whole 8,75 mb.
rattmouth: thanks for your answer.
you are right, the video file shows the light and shadow interplay of the two windows around one day:
and there are thin wooden "boards" that allow the sun to shine through and the wind to come in. by the way "windturm" means wind-tower; my concept: the contrast between wind and no wind, movement - no movement and so on ...
the "wind running up the hill" animation, shows that concept, too. there are red and blue areas ....
yes, i did it with swift3d. its a bit slow, but very good!
there is no back button, there was a lack of time and i myself had to present the wohle thing, so it hoped that there is no need to get back ..... *gg*
and thats also what i want to replie to you
markus:
yes, in the end there was stress! but i could finish nearly everything the way i wanted, except the navigation, but thats secondary matter!
id like to see more of your stuff,
i visited your page: i like your new paintings! great colors and nice ideas.
i phoned you, too, but you were in hollydays.
