Just a quick water colour of a nice old building I saw on my holiday.
Any comments suggestions ? I kind of stopped halfway through, do you think the less detailed parts work ?

Thanks for the comment, I love watercolours, they are really quick to use.
Its still quite difficult to get your head round just painting dark areas as your highlights are already there.
Surprisingly there weren't actually any people there when I drew the pic, there were loads of cars parked around though which I didn't paint.
The bottom of the building was obscured quite a bit so I had to make quite a bit up.

In my opinion, watercolours are absolutely the hardest medium you can possibly choose. I practice them regularly, and still I cannot convince myself with it. Everything is about suggestion, and the techniques to apply or manipulate the colours are endless.
So I think you did reasonably good. The sky looks as bad as my skies always do.
And putting some work in a correctly constructed perspective sketch pays off in the end. I don't know if you just went at it with a brush, but drawing very softly with a pencil is a good help, before starting to colour.

Thanks jome for your honest comments! I basically drew a very quick sketch, then got bored and just started painting.
I tend to treat most paintings as a learning experiment rather than trying to create a finished piece of work.
I think it's very difficult to see mistakes as you paint, it's far easier to paint 1 version then if you aren't happy just do another until you get it right.
I'll probably do another version with more careful perspective (it gets worse every time I look at this picture).

Ever thought about being a storyboard artist? This just oozes great storyboard art. Good stuff.

painted up another quick version yesterday, fixed some dodgy perspective, this isn;t quite finished yet though. Zephyros, thanks for the comment, I used to do quite a lot of storyboard art only small bits commercially though.
The colours on this image have come out a bit brown it looks a lot more like the first colourwise.

Found the time to do a Wacom version of this image, it still isn't right though, something seems to be missing from the bottom left corner and the colours are not how I intended.
