A good telescope lens or magnifying glass, when coupled with a clear day and lack of parental supervision, can make an F-16 model look like its been in a dog fight with an alien laser pod. |

Hehe...My F-16 still stands semi-not-broken on its shelf...accidentaly put it in the whole were a drawer used to be and then i put the drawer back without removing the f-16...DOH! "Crunch!"
Anyway, i built quite a lot of plastic models when i was youger, war planes from all eras. WW2, Gulf etc..
Recepie for a happy moment:
* 1 Old ugly plastic model P-52 Mustang.
* 1 Mulit-floor villa with balcony.
* 2 Tiger Shots (big firecrackers, go KA-BLAM!).
* Some tape.
* Matches or Ligther
Take the model and tape the firecrackers under its wings like big fuel tanks.
Go to your balcon located (preferably) on the second or third floor. Ligth the fuses on the firecrackers. When the fuse has burnt to its half length, throw plastic model as far as you can in a decent curve upwards and out (from yourself to avoid personal injuries from shrapnel).
Watch.
Enjoy.
Repeat with next plastci model of choise untill sufficent "happy" quota has been reached.

I used to be a plastic model fanatic. My entire room was filled with jetfighters, aircraft carriers, and robots.
It's really quite simple: follow the instructions, be careful when clueing parts that are moveable, don't use excessive glue that ends up ruining the surface, sand/clip protruding imperfections, fill in gaps with putty, paint VERY carefully. NEVER touch clear plastic parts(windshield on an airplane, for example) without wiping your fingers clean. If you don't, you'll end up with ugly ass finger prints on your model.
There. Have fun.  |
