An image I got fed up of painting, based on some photo reference from near Ska Fell in the lake district, any comments or suggestions appreciated.

Nice landscape, but some of the shapes in the distance on the left aren't refined enough for me to know what they are(comparatively). Why are you fed up with painting it? It's really quite nice.

Soak: Its all painted in photoshop, mainly with hard edge paintbrush tools but with the transparency set to around 50%
Solarflux: thanks for the observation, the left bit does need some work you are dead right. I got bored as it had taken too long, I get bored if anything takes more than a day ! Also there's a bit too much grass in the picture and it is hard to make it look interesting !

Hey Toenail-

Beautiful work. I hope to paint like that someday. As a photographer, I would have composed your landscape a little lower, as the cobblestone wall that runs along the road is sort of fighting to be a focal point- it's asking to seen. A road going to nowhere draws the viewer in to see where it's going, and the wall makes it even more tempting. As it is, the wall is framed low enough that it is almost but not quite a focal point.

If you go lower, you'll probably need to move 'camera' right as the wall would begin to sit in the center of frame and divide your lovely painting into fourths, rather than thirds.

That's a lot of B.S. from someone who can't paint half as good as you, but it is what it is. Good job. Show us more.

Thanks again for the comments.
fshrking: Thanks for the help pointing out these compostional stuff, how come other people can instantly spot bits which need work but you struggle for ages trying to work it out yourself ! The photos on your website are excellent by the way, some really good subjects and compostions. There's more landscapes on my website if you're interested.

Soak: Nice idea but i've usually started a new picture a week later, one day i'll do a "finished" one.
