Hey,
I'm considering a Wacom tablet... but I don't have much money.
I was most interested in the Graphire A6 tablet, but A6 is tiny isn't it?
What size do most people use?
Thanks,
Joel. _________________ I went to write my signature, and now i've got ink all over my monitor! |

Hi
Graphire A6 is very good to start with digital art.
I had it 1 year and was totally happy with it.
Now I have got a intuos2 a4. of course MUCH better but very expensive....
Here's a text I copied from a thread some time ago:
--------------------------------------------------------
Brand/features
1. Are you :
---A: an accomplished traditional artist with a very refined touch ?
---B: a beginner/amateur, both in traditional and digital painting/sketching
If you answer A you should probably go for the Wacom deal, if B is your answer you you would (read:should) be more than happy with a less expensive (100US$-150US$ depending on size) alternative, to call it a good deal.
Tablet size
2. When you sketch/draw/paint do you :
---A: use your whole arm to draw, and generally draw large drawings (A4 and up) ?
---B: like to draw small, using mostly your wrist for the lines ?
This second question should give you the pretty obvious answer that if you are in the A category, get a big tablet, and if you're in the B category, you would be happy with a smaller one.
--------------------------------------------------------
Think of that.

You know, there's always the search function on these forums. This one has been discussed to death by now.. And wacom has a "Tablet Specifier" somewhere on their site. It basically asks you some questions (price range, working habits, table space), and then tells you what tablet would be appropriate for you. Hasn't been wrong so far... _________________ Asurfael's Artpage

Forget the search function. Wait about a year then it will be useful again. _________________ http://www.conceptworld.org |

I am not very good, so my opinion might not matter but I wouldn't recommend getting 4X5. I owned one and it was a pain to use. Save your money for a while and get a 6X8. |
