Bang, this is awesome!

Only thing that comes to mind is that the main colours (purple, grey-green and the reddish brown) seem to be very saturated and seperate.

But the details are tight. Very Happy

I just gotta ask.

Were you applying for this school http://wdka.hro.nl ?
Willem De Kooning Academie

I was applying for that school and got the same project. If you think yours was crappy then I better shoot myself.

The skyline looks interesting and full of details, the color scheme is pretty ga^H^H^H^dreary tho. Oh, and it lacks of HOT BONDAGE ACTION. Better take care of this next time.

P.S.: I AM SOOOO GLAD SIJUN'S BAKC... eatpoo's < SIJUN... and I mean
eatpoo <<<<<< SIJUN ... oh yeah.

Hey Bang, this is a really great pic, I like the attention to detail and the neat style you have going on! How did you do the windows in the buildings??

My only crit is that maybe there could have been more buildings in the distance to make the city feel even larger. But great stuff nonetheless!

I like all of it but the large "S". It looks top heavy. Its a very noticable detail because its bright and large, so the top heavyness is even more noticable. Stick your thumb over it, blocking it out. Then remove you thumb. All the other logos are perfect. The S just seems a little too imperfect.

I love those angry buildings looking at us from the distance Smile

Wow very nice and very interesting concept too. =) I like the fact that there are even some outlines in the background... wow, must be some really heavy smog or something. Or the buildings are really tall and the guy's high up in the air.

About the $ sign, it kinda stands out so how about lightening it a little?

And I totally dig the "platform" he's standing on. I can't call it a piece of ground 'cos he's not standing on ground, so it's platform yeah. What I'm curious is how someone would be able to construct it since it looks like it's floating in the air. Razz

Btw, it would be fun to probably add in a couple of birds(just j/k Very Happy )

yea tha's pretty cool. I like the lil coke, mcdonalds, nike, and cnn advertisements u got goin on there....and..the money sign...i dont know if thats an advertisement...u no, i havent seen any business with a symbol like that... 'cept that alias show..anyway pretty cool. And that all the buildings farther off seem as tho they got eyes. Tha's also cool. Very nice.

I like it better when I cover up everything below the painter's feet. I think the colors down there aren't integrated into the paiting very well. They feel out of place.

Ceenda: You're very right about my color and saturation problem. I've have had it for a long time now and its getting better, but apparently not good enough.

Svanur: YES! That is the school i've applied too and guess what! I just got a mail from them and I GOT IN!!!!! WOOOOH Party! How did you do? Will you be there with me?

Flat: Thanks you man! And btw youre banned from eatpoo.

JasonN: Jason i love you baby! You're always here for me! In every thread i post, you C&C me! Thank you so much for the caring!

Yuri and Tzan:Hehehehe, i didnt notice at all but apparently many people feels the same way so i guess i really did make a mistake! I'll fix it thanks!
Thank you so much for the C&C, i really appreciate it!

CwStone: Its nice that you noticed it man! My works has pay off after all! Its exactly done for your eye Very Happy

Drew: I agree with you there man. The reason why i do so is because the painting HAS tobe at A4 size so i can't really chop off any thing Smile

Max: Thanx!!!1111

Lookin good Bang! The best I've seen from you so far, the concept is very interesting. My compaints are pretty much the things Ceenda mentioned, the colour scheme could be more unified so it serves the composition better. The foreground looks dry (lack of reflected light) while it's misty (or even raining?) on the city further away.. fixing (= adding reflections) that connects the BG and FG better. I eliminated most of the red in the overpaint and added some mist to the middleground buildings too. I think you nailed the values on the figure very well, I wouldn't change it a bit.
The detailed buildings looked great as separate elements, but as a whole it doesn't work as well as a bit more simplified buildings would (especially on the sides & near the top). The use of reversed saturation gave a nice touch to the pic, unsaturated near the camera and high saturation far away. Makes the city look uneasy while the painter looks calm so he's really taking the time to paint the cityscape. That's all I can translate to words at 5 am, the overpaint should help understand any miscommunications.

The burning sun is rising and my skin doesn't like it, Dracula needs some rest now Wink

See ya! Looking forward to see more chicks.. err.. I mean pics from you hehe

woah, excellent paintover, timo. i couldn't see any flaws in the original, but your version seems to read a lot better. it's also a lot more realistic, which i don't think is what bang was going for - interesting take.
