Some concepts for a new painting I'm working on. Thought they came out ok, so I figured I'd share em with ya. Smile

They're going to be dancing around an alter while one of the demons spanks a fallen angel with his "big paddle". Wink There's a fifth demon, but it's behind the alter and you can't really see him at all, so I didn't bother to include him.

Here's the Angel that's being spanked...

Hope ya like em. Smile

Malachi

Thanks for the comments. Smile

Frost~ Coming from you, that might be one of the biggest complements I've ever gotten. (Even though you're completely out of your mind. Wink )

Germ01~ Thanks. Very Happy They're all going into one painting, I'll show you my concept for the "big picture" after I get the colors roughed in. (I'm working on some images for that book as we speak. I've already got someone who wants to publish it, I just need to get enough illustrations together. Lots of work ahead of me...)

pixelkitten~ I'm glad you like em. Smile The jack-in-the-box is one of my favorites too. Or as I like to call him "Death-in-the-box".

Finer~ Thanks for the kind words Finer. It's not everyday I can lure you into leaving a reply for me, it's appreciated dude. Smile They were all done directly in PS with a hard brush. Then I vectorized them to make the lines cleaner. I wanted them to be strictly b&w, no grays from lighter pen pressure and such...

pierre~ You made a 6'3'' 250lbs hairy man blush. Thanks for the complement. Very Happy

Take em easy,
~M~

Yeah, it's very nice to see you do clean lineart. It's always refreshing to see an artist you think you "know" do something other than what you expect. The anatomy seem very tight, although I can't help thinking that some of them are slightly out of balance in a way. That's beeing really picky though.

Can you tell us a little about why you want to venture into pure B/W instead of the usual clean color stuff you usually do so well?

Good stuff.

Thanks for the comments all, I'm glad you're diggin em. Smile

Neff, Tinusch~ Thanks. Smile

Sukhoi~ Thanks for the comments man. I guess I'm just trying to get more variety in my work. I've been feeling really stagnant lately. Trying new things, getting back into some old things... Frankly I'm sick of painting all these posed, perfected chicks standing in front of flat BGs.

I thought pin-up would be great for me, but after 2 1/2 years of drawing almost nothing but pin-up... I'm getting tired of it. And my work was beginning to show my lack of interest. I still love painting beautiful women, don't get me wrong. It's just the last few pin-ups I did were really uninspired and you can see that in them. It's like I reached a peak with my pin-up stuff around the time I did "insatiable Appetites" and "Disturbed" and after that I kind of lost interest...

Just trying to be more creative now, more expressive with my work you know? Loosen up a bit. Thanks again for the comments dude. Smile

Here's what I've got painted so far...

Just getting things set up, haven't started rendering any details yet.

The colors are accurate to the best of my knowledge, but the characters aren't really standing out much. If anyone has any suggestions on how I can keep the color pallet for the piece cohesive, but get the individual characters to pop out more, I'd greatly appreciate it. Smile
Can anyone see the pattern in the cracks in the ground?

Anyway, thanks again for the comments on the concept drawings, much appreciated. Smile

Oh yeah! I love them all. Reminds me alot of The Spawn magazine. Who was the artist again? Oh yes Capullo! Or was it McFarlane? Nevermind. The style is great. Im somewhat farmilliar with your work. I remember -not so mild nudity- and this is quite different from them i think.

I suck at lineart. This inspires me alot.

Congrats! O)
