see: cool! quite a nice feeling of moonlight. maybe you could add some specular reflection, shine, to the dark wet wod of the hull in places and in moderation?

pierre: you see to like to have your brightest light coming from behind you subject so you always get that wicked bright edge lighting and then the majority is lit by cool diffuse, soft light. Always looks great! you seem to render things so amazingly simply, just like the proverbial white matte cubes on the infinite plane, everything is so minimal and simplified, and it looks so real Shocked

question for wasssup:
do you use ps or painter, or something else? assuming you use ps7, do you use the standard brushes, or do you make them yourself? whenever i use custom brushes they tend to look like an uninteresting heap of colour(or poo, for that matter).
I know you choice of colours is the biggest influence here, but just wondering how you set up your brushes.

question for all you guys:
is it bad to use the HSB sliders? i use them all the time, but can imagine you learn more about colours if you use RGB sliders, although its also harder

merlyns> hey thanks Smile Yeah I did use color dodge... sometimes it's just too tempting 'cause it's so easy.
The nose is a short... fix it next time. Smile

eyesore-warning.
I always loved HPX's pure intentse color backgrounds and I was wondering if I could pull it off. Nope.

whataloadofshit

Probustion: Custom brushes aren't what make wassup or spooge good. See some of craig's earlier work with just bog standard preset round brushes -- his art is still amazing, custom brushes won't change that, nor can software.

I cant stay out of this thread.
If I would say that something nowadays is truly Renassaince it would be this Thread in this forum, I truly love your guys works, Keep up the good work everyone.

Ok I made a Drawing today and tried to render it in a nice manner, I think I over-rendered the whole piece, anyway, I took a break and made this one.

The Punch from the dragon. I was once told that dragons flooded the earth and that mankind was doomed. The dragons thought they had the upper advantage but as usual Mankind is proven to be the one and only Armageddon.
Well could maybe be a story ...hmmm, anyway.

Probustion: i use both of pt and ps...maybe rather pt, coz i started paiting with pt and dont really know much abt ps:p though, some of my recent pics were done in ps7, theres a lota fun with playing ps7s brushes, i feel much more flexible with ps7s custom defined brushes. hm...i think i will try more in ps7. also, you should really pick a no-party-weekend and browse through Craigs site, hes absolutely the expert for ps brushes if theres one, yes, he is(well,of course hes much more than that:))

i didnt make much self defined brushes(4 or 5?), but there are thousands of combinations of textured-brushes and dual brushes, just try out some, you should easily figure out what you want:)

tell me wheres the secret door leading to pierres treasures!

wasssup, thx dude. but it took longer than 77min, thats just a frame time from the gladiator ;] it took about 3 hours.

Jonathan: really nice knight pic dude. love the background.

merlyns: thanks man!

ceenda: like your head drawings. something tells me you might be losing a few values to the scanner though.

see: thanks! like how simple you did those sails.

this is not exactly speed painting... but compared to some of the 'speed paintings' here its a rather fast job ;] references used.

HPx Sorry I had to do this one.

Capt.Fred - I think HPx is using the eraser a lot when he is doing those pictures, so make the background color selected to the eraser and then start to draw and erase, draw and erase and those crispy edges appear. :)

Drunken Monkey - Your latest stuff really rocks.

Wassup, I really enjoy your work. What is your background, a little more about yourself, if you want.

matrix is two full time jobs for me now. i will not be posting very much at all this summer, not for lack of wanting, though.

getting used to a PC will take a lot of time, the flow just ain't there yet.

I would love this thread even more if those super elite Pierre Wassup Demons would comment on mortals quickies not only on each other's 5minute masterpieces.

Great stuff anyhow... sorry about that remark
