starglider2, P-Rik, Freebooter, annisahmad - thanks a lot guys!
can't answer for matthew but there's quite a lot of cheating going on in that bird pic... Some of the texture comes from painter 7, letting brushstrokes be brushstrokes etc, but when i was getting more or less finished with it i slapped a photo of a wall on top of it so the stuff you see there is paint peeling off a painted wall, i didn't do those things by hand. it was a quick fix to jazz it all up i guess.
today we're out in the wasteland of an alien planet:

mon- thnk u for the response! i deeply appreciate it. great work on the last painting!
matthew- the same goes for u. thank u . also, thanks for taking the time to pm the info. . i've been busy with that site for a while, trying to analyze that guys' style and everything. i appreciate the help deeply. ur last oil rocks!
mitsui, odd, and everyone else, keep up the great work.
here's a concept portrait i did in about 30 mins in photoshop cs. playing with different kinds of lights and how they'd act on skin... i dont really know if this lighting would make the skin look like that, but i just painted it anyway.

XIA, real nice lighting and colors!
watmough, cool textures!
Mon, wow! Awesome bird. I absolutely love the blue contrasting color in front of his (her?) beak, and all the detail... Where are you going to/did you go to school?
Freebooter, kinky.
Mitsui, awesome bots and daring color usage. *eats painting*
starglider2, good work on controlling the chaos of jungle.
oDD, nice landscape, very creative.
Matthew, your oil work is taking a scary turn toward "master", "evil genius" or something to that extent.
annisahmad, you're getting so much better at lighting and color usage. Keep rollin'
Everyone, keep up the good work!
Not really a speed painting, but it doesn't deserve a thread of its own. And it needs guns.

specific props extended to Mitsui and Starglider on that last one. Very nice indeed.

Chruser, I don't know what do you mean by 'kinky' but I can tell you he is not groping his crotch under the cape . If you meant that speedo-guy, yeah he's kinda pervertic.
Somehow he turned up to look like Christian Bale..
Keep 'em coming, guys! |
