Thanks guys for your sympathy
Gizmods: thanks. And I was just about to say the same to you. Wanna trade styles?
Mon: that's just genious. I bet you get paid for painting. (I'm too lazy to check from your website) Good work.
P-Rik: where has your style gone? I liked the old P-Rik.
Haven't tried blackandwhite before. Well there has to be a first time for everything.

octavian~ I sold my soul to the devil a couple years ago, so I've been busy.
I guess I have to use the old excuse, of being to tired/drained to do much personal work for myself, I'll have to change that though... I appreciate the kind words and your work is coming along very nicely as well. Just goes to show you, that being an active participant of this thread will certainly improve one's abilities over time.
igino~ Thanks dude. I love your color use, you're one of my favorites around here lately.
Here's another little speedy, part of some concept work I just started for a personal project...

octavian, your spacemarine is fantastic!
allpeter, like the one with the old man and the child.
And your "sketchy sketch" is absolute perfect - simple, but damn good composition.

well ocean
Nice line work.
But where did her legs go?
Neff
What is sketchbook pro 2.0?
Some lighting probelms in that one.
But good use of colours.
M@
like the contrast in that one alot.
Naglfar
Thanks alot mate.
Sweet!!!
Legionnarie_shoot.jpg turned out DAMN nice! gj
Petri.J
You must be joking me, your doing great.
Like the subtle light in that face. And the last one is great too.
sheff
Nice use of colours.
Daryl
Thanks a bunch mate.
Really nice cyclop.
leaner
Try to nail shapes in less strokes, would do you good.
If you work in higher resloution you will not have to shapren your works that much either.
Good colours.
seth1
Thanks again.
keep it up dude, you are doing great.
Malachi Maloney
I'm not going in there. Nice.
Good concept in the latter one.
atempa
I like the sketchyness in that one.
Octavian
Cool schizzle.
igino
WOW, thanks alot!!
Atleast I hope I do.
Beautiful speedy there.
Popeye
Thant one is very appealing
gizmodus
Like the forehead.
Mon
We like thee technique alot.
P-Rik
That is nice. But I think you are killing it with the brightness.
Try to get the same effect by working with darker colours,
so that you have room for many more brighter contrasts in your works to come.
If you were to do this, You would seriously kick ass.
Duracel
Thanks a ton mate!
Must say that I like strongly like yours alot too. Great work.
Very apealing. And you get the feeling that you know what you are doing by the way you place colours.
I've had a miner artistic block the two past days.
I feel asleep erlier today, and among other weird things I dreamed about this.
Now it's your turn to crit my poor atempt to death guys!

Mon: Stop it! I have to watch the dark crystal everytime you do that!
Duracel: Thanks homie.
allpetter: hahahaha, genius dood! I lurv it. I guess we may be working together soon? I look forward to it.
Alright, I'm officially addicted to making my work look more professional.

igino, that mechafight pic is AWESOME!!
another prove that a picture doesn't necessarily need these very dark values to be eye-pleasing... _________________ known as "ChrisNix" elsewhere. |

It counts to me Malachi... I really dig the design of that one. The lines are very pleasing to me.
Igino: that first mech is nice. did you use the last matrix as ref? it reminds me of a shot from it. anyway, good style... Btw, the flash from the gun almost looks like a female, on fire and flying up into the air... like pheonix from xmen. Really cool.
skurai: welcome.... I can't really think of any custom brush tuts, but the best thing would be to play around with it. Are you using ps? if so, just alter the shape dynamics, scattering, and opacity to start with and see what you can come up with from those. Plus you can apply similar settings to the eraser to pull out more texture. I think its best to try it out. Let us see what you come up with. |

StylesDavis: thx! yeah, if you got a bright background light, you hardly ever need very dark colors.
skurai: try this -http://www.igino.net/graphix/brushbastelvideo.zip custom brush tut for PS7 by BigO.
octavian: thanks. no ref used for those speedies. but it's funny you mention it. when I first saw the matrix mech, back when the movie came out, I was like: "OMG, They build what I always had in mind for the perfect mech design!"
Well, I was pretty close. Anyway, I still love that design very much! So it's not very surprising for me you see a resemblence. Does this happen to you sometimes? I mean it happened to me serval times. When I was younger I very often drew a character I made up, and then, one day I discovered the Spawn comic, which looked exactly like him. I've never been in a comic-book store before and I was very exited that Ieven found more characters I made up there in the bookshelfs ... very dissappointing though.
Do you know what I mean?
I don't know Pheonix, btw.

Petri: Love your painting of the guy with the strong outlines on the last page.
DARYL: Thanks, really like your last image aswell.
octavian: Well the game I did the illu. for is a space game and only set in space so unfortunetly its not character based.. its for a story set in the world.
igino: Great work and thanks, I only rendered the backround roughly, something I throw up pretty quick, put some lights in and hit render. Saves a bunch of time since it only takes mebbe ~20 min to do and you get the perspective right etc. btw. really like your 70s image
Mon: Nice one!
allpeter: Thanks alot! Your dreams seem about as wierd as mine
Matt: Great girl.
Phil: Really dig your style there.
P-Rik: That fairy is great! Dark, yet sparkly
Malachi: Nice, me likes.
Old one I found when I was going through my HD.

Igino: I can't say that really happens to me too much. But It has happened. btw, phoenix was a stupid character with cool efx in the xmen comics. i liked the way she was drawn when she was all on fire, but other than that, I think she was a pretty lame character... though that has no negative connotations on your image which is great.. I just thought it was neat to see a shape in there that reminded me of my childhood comic days. anyway, heres the best link I could find to what she sort of looked like... http://www.aaa-collectables.com/images/125.jpg peep it. maybe you can see the resemblance I was talking about.
ah crap, sorry guys. Didn't know I was starting a new page.. and without an image... Party foul. |
