Do number 6! That one's already evocative. I saw your finished number 1, and I loved it. 6 is kind of alone the same vane, so I bet it would turn out awesome. |

#5 reminds me very much of Frank Frazetta's work, something I admire very much.
For those of you who do not know him

you should. _________________ wait...wait...........what? |

I don't think there's anyone here that don't know who he is. You'd have to be very young or very new to illustration/fantasy art to not know him.
I actually just finished #5, but I'm not allowed to show it publically yet, as the magazine that comissioned me to finish it for a tutorial won't be published until next month. After that, I can show it. |

Oh hey that's cool Lunatique. I am so glad you're working on these. Many of them have so much potential. Looking forward to see them develop.
If you feel in a teaching mood one of these days it would be highly interesting to see steps as they develop. How you tackle it/them from their present state to a finished painting. Doesn't necessarily have to be with gazillion steps and a lot of text, but as usual complementary text is always a bonus. No pressure and no demands. Just wishful thinking.
Have fun painting them now and all the best. _________________ The Dark Ages was caused by the Y1K problem. |

Actually, cgsociety.org (cgtalk.com) will be showing the step-by-step tutorial for Moonlight Lovers this coming Monday as a cross-promotional effort for d'artiste Digital Painting (a second push since they've gotten their books into a lot of major bookstores recently). The step-by-step tutorial for "Till Death Do Us Part" will be published in a new magazine from UK's Future Publishing next month, including a full-length interview.
I pretty much always keep all the steps for my paintings these days--as I've learned from past mistakes that not keeping the steps is a bad idea, as you might want to go back to a certain part of the previous version as it looked better than what you currently have.
I'll be pretty swamped with a bunch of concept work for the next few months, so the rest of these WIP's will have to wait until I've moved back to the States and settled down (sometime in March next year). |
