Quitting smokin is a good idea... but since this guy just joined today, I have a feeling he's more into spam.
Quit smoking anyway... it would be good for you... _________________ HonePie.com

Actually why do people smoke? My friend tells me it "feels good", that's all? _________________ Derelict Studios|Godwin's Space |

Maybe it's because it's addictive stuff? lol
Cigarettes neighter smell nor taste good.
Smokers just forget that after a while and think they do,...
You have to smoke for quite some time to get addicted so there's really no excuse.
I hate cigarettes but I am sure I could get addicted too if I wanted. |

tastes good? smokes because it's nice?
anyone who claims they smoke for other reasons than "because i can" or "LOL I GET ANGRY AND NERVOUS IF I CAN'T SUDDENLY DO SOMETHING I'VE DONE 40 TIMES A DAY FOR 10 YEARS NOW I NEED SCISSORS! 61!" is full of shit.

It'll eventually kill ya if you keep it up... with exceptions... My wife's first mother-in-law has smoked a pack or more a day for 75 years. She's 93, still smokin, and living on her own... Amazing! _________________ HonePie.com

I wouldn't really care about health problems. Everyone dies sometime,... What bugs me most is that smokes are constantly influenced. Without cigarettes they don't feel good. They set themselfes needlessly limitations of their freedom and loose alot of money at the same time which could be spent on things they would enjoy much more. When people say: "damn I need to smoke, I can't stand it anylonger" I stand beside tham and think, well, I don't need anything but fresh air and I am happy too. So, why start smoking. Because it's cool? lol
By the way, I don't have anything against smokers personally. Most of my best friends smoke.
faustgfx: You're not totally right. People who smoke cigars normally do it because of the taste and not because they are addicted. The difference concerning the taste isn't that big. Same with pipes. |

i'll say,
people who smoke regular cigarettes because it tastes good are severely delusional.
but then again, some people enjoy drinking piss and eating shit too quite genuinely, what's the difference.
i'd rather die out of my heart giving in than having my lungs give in. at least it'd be quick. _________________ "hey, wanna dance?"

The persons who like to ingest various body fluids or waste products at least do that where it doesn't affect me. I wouldn't care about smokers at all if it wasn't for the nasty smell and the awfulness of standing next to one and inhaling his smoke. I really wonder how someone can stand his boyfriend/girlfriend/wife/husband being a smoker. I mean if it goes beyond a certain amount of daily smoking it's fucking disgusting really. But then I know people who continued to smoke into their pregnancy and claimed "it's only because the doctor said if I stop totally right now, the baby might take damage blabla". Most smokers I know really have a weakness in their character that prevents them from stopping. I do think it's better than having a serious alcohol addiction, but it's surely nothing to be proud of as so many smoking people(specially the young ones) think. |

Funny you should say that, Sumaleth.
About 8 months ago, my aunt was dying of lung cancer. She was one of my greatest inspirations in life, and a truly wonderful person. I guess as a response to her cancer and smoking in general, I started a photo project on cigarettes. Some of the photos are supposed to be portraits of the smoker his or herself, others are more sculptural, others are little natural scenes. All are rankly amateurish. Nevertheless, I learned a great deal about cigarettes (I don't smoke) and smokers from this project. After a month or two I wasn't seeing cigarette butts so much as I was seeing traces of people, little personality quirks littering the ground.
Enough blah blah blah, here's the goods: http://www.malapropter.com/cigarette/ _________________ QED, sort of. |

Great! I'd like to see those in a slide show... slow fade from pic to pic. It's amazing that so many different brands of cigs are still commercially viaable... so many smokers stll smokin. _________________ HonePie.com
