Just got a WIP music track... I mostly struggle with rythmm I think. Any crits are welcome. This is very much incomplete and has glitches like at the start, but leave a comment if you have any ideas.

I'm trying to make it for an exhibition where I can't use copyrighted material, hence I want to try and make my own.
As an aside, I'm curious as to how people would classify this? What genre? |

Personally I'd call it old-school trance.
It's a fairly generic, but it's not bad. The piano part could be improved, as it seems a little aimless right now. Try playing one or two chords with it to avoid the "toy piano" feeling.
Even though all you've got for rythm is a bass drum, I think it works. It throbs effectively, and keep the track moving. If you wanted it to be danceable you'd need a snare or some hi-hats, but if you're just after atmosphere, it's fine. The pads and ambient sounds in the background are alright. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

Yeah, i have to agree with the comment about piano part. If you could make a good piano melody ala Robert Myles - Children (vs random notes), then the whole thing would sound much better i think. |

Comments are spot on, thx guys... I was being aimless with the piano and there's def some missing percussion to take a look at. All I needed were some fresh ears. |

Yeah, pretty good. I think that it flows rather smoothly.
Sounds nice!
I wish I got to see presentations at work with decent music such as this... _________________

It's pretty basic, and that in itself can be fine for a standard electronic tune--but it depends on if that's what you were after. If you want to go beyond that, then more sophisticated arrangement, melodic development, creative drum parts..etc will have to be explored. |
