IMHO = In my humble or honest opinion
It is an acronym for a caveat. I would agree with Iron Wolf that the use of acronymns rather than proper grammar and spelling is awkward, however, there are certain acronymns that have become acceptable..."i.e." for example.
Henceforth, I shall spell it out as Iron Wolf is probably correct in his assessment of this "shorthand."

or maybe it's not worth it. Seems like IronWolf is not among us any longer.

I like the first one. The colors and the "softness" of the piece seem more natural. The second pic is a bit too saturated.

Guess it it also a generation thing.
Younger people grow up with such busy games, anime movies and images.
Guess that's why they prefer such fancy/overloaded/extremely saturated images!?

Good theory, except the original was painted by a high schooler.

I never said it has to do with age. I think it has to do with how you grow up ...
and in many cases the artists are more the quiet types, less into extreme textures and busy images.

Most of my friends (none of them are artists/illustrators) have a different taste.
I guess most of them would not prefer the 1st image because they look for other qualities.
Most of them like images with strong, saturated colors most.

And I noticed that spending time on forums like Sijun has changed my taste a lot.
And I think it is a generation thing because artists seem to go in that direction ...
just take a look at the "new master's" (Steve Hanks or Stephen Gjertson @ artrenewal.com) galleries. They don't work with the ... ummm tame!? palette of the old masters.
Guess I just don't know how to describe what I mean.
