I had to paint something since I took the top of the page... a quick, bleh. Kinda looks like Doo Doo land doesnt it? :
M@: I love the painting, but I can't help and see this:
hope you don't mind. I thought it was kinda funny.

I like that alot octavian, no need to bleh it, it's a worthy top o the page contribution. Don't get yourself down just because M@ blew you away, that guy shows everybody up... that's why he's got the cushy blizzard job :p
Everyone's been putting out a strong showing lately. |

Eren, I don't know why, but I have to say... that flare is DOPE. it really looks like it's going off to me. I can hear the sizzle and everything. nice one.
Falldamage: "Don't get yourself down just because M@ blew you away, that guy shows everybody up..."
I'm not exactly sure what you meant by this. M@ is awesome no doubt, a big inspiration to me. But I certainly don't think that any of us are here to "show anyone up". it's all for the love of painting, right?

Heh, I just liked the sketch is all, and thought that by labeling it a 'quick bleh' in the same post that you made specifically to praise M@, you implied that it wasn't something you should be happy with, when you should!
I mis-read a bit, I can see that as I take a closer look at your post, but I tend to drop in once a day and give things a quick scan, so mis-interpretation on my part is a little more likely these days. |

First post here, recently got an Intuos 3 A4. First attempt at a landscape, no reference, about an hour or so.

samsonsreaper (tripplewow!), disco_science, m@ of course, w@sker, paoo(thanks), yuk (love the girl!) and daryl - great! Didn't know how much I missed this thread.
Morano - fire away!
skurai - I find that only layering colors over a b/w pic is often unconvincing. Personally I put a layer on top of the colors and refine there. Sort of weaving the colors into the painting, adding highlights, shadows, go "deeper into the color pots". Because I know I will, I don't usually take the b/w version too far.
I wanted to something more modern... stuck in texturebrushes I guess.
