Umm yes I used to draw with pencils alot(still do this every now and then), started drawing digitally last summer so I'm kind of new with this.

And I tend to just sit down and pant without sketching (the things I submit to this thread that is) and when I mess up I just have that 1 layer and no color preset so I often cba to start fixing it. But it's true, I do have problems with the basics, and I should do some thoughtout pictures. I actually have a few WIP's from something like this but to be honest I pretty much have forgotten about them Sad

But thanks for pointing that out anni, going to do some research on those basics from now on Wink

something older

(wee its my bday Smile )

Eren that's damn great! And to Skurai: appretiating your tablet more? Laughing

merry christmas everyone!

Lakka: another quick word> the human eye is very sensetive to small contrasts, don't feel like painter's palette is too small, use small differences on the color selector and they will be enough. Everyone finds themselves jumping to the whites too often (at least i still do, maybe if I get better I won't); you need to catch yourself so you can fix that error though. And I've already seen progress.
Listen to the advice about spending a lot of time on individual pieces too, that helped me a ton when i was just starting digital (actually I should probably take that advice a bit more often myself if I want to improve significantly in the future)

Ranath, Eren, thanks!

P-Rik, yeah. For a long time I thought adding details to a good sketch is something trivial, only time assuming. But as I tried finishing a sketch it turned out that detailing is anything but trivial - it's extremely easy to ruin the picture.

A study again.

Ranath, toast!, eren: thanks, guys! Great stuff yourselves!

eren: good progessing, you have the values down pretty decently by now, but you could improve on drawing quality!

nice work everyone!

ax--hv> i agree. adding detail can very quickly ruin a painting. that's why i also see well detailed paintings as a mastery in itself and something that needs to be practiced. nice one by the way!

i've been sketching tanks for the past few days. needless to say, its been lazy sketching... the design hasn't reached its maximum potential yet. but... we'll see.
