If you like vampire flicks and haven't seen 30 Days of Night, then you definitely have to see it. I didn't know anything about it except having seen short teasers--I didn't even know it was based on a graphic novel (I've been out of comics for a while now).
I was immediately drawn into the atmospheric premise, and liked the direction/cinematography a lot. There were some shots that had me perk up and think "Now, that is a GREAT camera angle to use!" The vampires were depicted very well--just human enough to not be simply beasts, but not nearly human enough to be mistaken for one.
Definitely one of the best vampire flicks I've seen in a long time. |

Woah, thanks. I totally missed this one. I guess I never even saw a poster for it. From the trailer, I think it looks great. The camera work (from what I can spot) is totally against anything that the genre has to offer and kind of reminds me of se7en. So, where's my video store card... _________________ CA SB|Flickr |
