lol you guys are too kind.
Ok then I might continue to ramble then...
Feels weird just chatting out though and thinking that you talk to yourself, gotta stop thinking like that.
///
Yea the pic is supposed to be some kind of arena, maybe ancient but haven't decided yet because the structure is still very rough.
Gonna try to add some characters later on.
Thanks guys.
Mattyuk, btw yea Gimp is great. |

Damn this series became a total failure, gonna look over my workflow again.
Keep changing my mind every 20 seconds when I paint, anyone else of you that experience the same thing?
grrr to hell with it, darn it (my workflow I mean)
Edit, think I have come up with a solution lol, damn I am making nonsense ramble...
I should give myself the silent treatment, damn. |

humm, not really... i usually make up my mind before i start painting, having a clear goal i just paint it down quick, thats it.
If i fail i fix it or start a new paint. _________________ www.hd-fortresss.com |

@ Mathew, do you start off with random strokes until you 'see' something emerging or do you have a starting idea and explore it?
Quick scribble:

Matthew, that arena piece is quite a winner! Palette, depth and scale are great! I'd really like to see it developed even further! |

Yea it should be about controlling yourself, gotta work on that because everything in painting is fixable, well hopefully.
Think I gotta give my pieces some more time to develop them.
Appreciate the discussion guys.
Someone asked above:
...usually how I work is to scribble down something to suggest scale and depth and then I keep rotating the piece back and forth and flipping looking for something, when I was into abstract it was all about balancing the piece.
However I don't think the abstract traditional people care much about balance. lol.
thanks again guys, love when we have a discussion.
In this particular arena I was looking for something else in the beginning, you see the 90 degrees rotation makes a whole lot difference, what surprises me is also that the value of a shape can make or break a whole piece, at least the balance in it.
Hideyoshi, sorry my maan this is as far my arena goes at the moment. The next piece I do I will develop more though and post.
keep up everyone |
