These things look like guinea-pigs, but the size of a swine! They look like they had a bad day too

These ones might look very cute, but they are running around in huge packs and steal, shit and piss on people.
One jumped on my camera while I took a movie and then sat on my hand, when I put him back on the ground he grabbed my finger and bit in it, he didnt want to let go really, but did after a bit of pushing him. I wouldnt have thought they have that strong teeth, but my finger felt like I had it in a door that got slammed shut, for quite a while.

Piss and Bite proof here:

I hope you like them, even though the weather was pretty bad for shooting photos, some turned out good I think. It was alot of fun at that Zoo, in Summer it surely is even more! So go and visit it

@Giant Hamster - maybe I can try to steal one, altough it will probably eat me then :P

@Andromeda - those guinnea pig thingies are called Capibaras and afaik they are the worlds largest rodents.
Kattas are half-apes, thats why I like them more, they dont have that "human-like" face, but more of dog-snout and stuff. Also their eyes are sooo cool.

@elam - sorry cant remember the name and I dont have my 4000 animals book here. Ill tell you when I find out

Sweet pic dude! Guess what, i've just been here 2 weeks ago during a school fieldtrip. Amazing isnt it!?

Cool pic and all, but you've missed the red monkey. That monkey i think is the best ever, it let you pet them and doesnt move much just like a fat cat!!

WHERE ARE THE BABES?1

It was two weeks ago, and i thought you live in Canada!

These are some neat pictures!
The one with the orange face is just too cool. He looks like he is hiding under this big wig.
hehe

Why are you in holland anyways? It's not exactly the vacation season... And it's not like it's the coolest of places you know...

Nevermind, I figured it out on my own by not being stupid, heh. Sau = Pig, Meer(or Mier) = Lake...So. Lake pig. not sure what the first part is though.

But, I searched around for that, and found this word: Capybara.

Did a search for that and got These, wheeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Click to look at massive amounts of ultra cute Capybara pictues!!

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, again!!!!

@edraket - Im here in Holland, because an online friend of mine (King of Url), allowed me to stay in his house here for a while and I wanted to meet him and I wanted to see the Netherlands for quite a while.
I couldnt go sooner caus I wouldve had no place to stay then. About the coolest-place thing: I think every place has something worth visiting it and the Netherlands are pretty nice imo. Im not searching for the thrill here, just for a nice time. Never been to a foreign country before, so I took the chance and drove here, since Austria isnt THAT far away (my place to here about 1100km).

@Tom Carter - Thank you. Its a Fuji S602z(see for info on www.dpreview.com), bought it not too long ago, still not really a pro using it, but its a great cam that makes those nice pictures nearly automagically

@Giant Hamster - little Sherlock Holmes ey? "Riesen" means giant, you got Meer and Sau right, altough "Sau" is a female pig(male one is called "Eber" and pig in general is "Schwein") and the word is used as an insult quite often here.
If you combine those words to "Riesenmeersau" it means giant guinnea pig, as guinnea pig in german is "Meerschwein"! This concludes the little german lesson for today! ;P

@elam - YES DO it! We NEED more sijun geographic threads here. Ill go to the famous "Tiergarten Schnbrunn" in Vienna, when Im back home as soon as the weather is nice for it(could take ages though Im affraid :\)

Amazing - I have extensive experience with emulsion based photography, and your digital shots rival the shiznit out of some of the best emulsion I've seen. I gotta get me one of those.
