Shahar, cool name . Muspellheim is the fire lands where giants first appeared.

Well, I have to agree with you about the way humans adapt themselves, so don't you think that any animal with intelligence will try to expand it's territory? Nature is cruel so if I was an animal I'd do everything I could to survive, and that includes changing the enviroment or using tools.

ah but therein is the point, if you were an animal, you wouldn't "think" about surviving, just follow your instinct and, of coarse the higher an animal you would be, the less instinct you would have.
most animals don't think, they obay a programming, and learn a bit from experience, chimpanzees and higher animals learn a LOT from experience, humans, learn nearly everything from experience, and have nearly no prior programming.

Nex, humans (sort of) stopped adapting some time ago

You're right I was unprecise.
Humans could/did adapt to almost all climates earlier in history (because they have spread almost all over the whole world pretty early)

Most of that of course with the use of tools.
Obviously our intelligence made us the ultimate animal. We can crush the ice on the northpole to get fishes to eat, we can pick fruits from trees much higher than ourselves without having to climb them, we can kill animals much bigger/stronger/faster than us by the use of tools.

I'd say thats impressive from an anthropologist's point of view.

I mean if we would be flying to some other planet in the future and find a race there that managed to control the whole planet without being stronger/taller/faster/more in number than other races/animals there we would be impressed too no?

The fact that we are smart enough to place ACTIONS but not smart ebough to foresee the REACTIONS globally/environmentally/socially however may be a fatal problem in our "breed". Maybe even such a big flaw that our race will extinct within time to make room for another better version.

Isn't it funny that dinosaurs (who ruled the world first) were so different from humans and still managed to take over the planet?
They were not that smart at all, but they were big and strong.

I wonder what the third ruler of this planet (if it still exists at that time) will look like.

Well I went very far from the original topic, but I guess we almost found a stable position in the "are we evil from nature" question anyway.

Not really a fair comparison with dinosaurs, if it was T-rex or Just one species of dinos than it would be, but saying dinos ruled the earth is just like saying Mamals rule the earth now. they were similar but not the same species, no single species has really ruled the earth as one like humans. (or cockroaches )

on another note, I don't really think these philosophical questions really have a relative point to your quality of life, and they are allso not going to be answered any time soon, but what they are is great exercise for your brain, which like any muscle needs it, frequently and in good doses, if you sit around thinking "what my butt look like in 5 years" when you could be thinking "what evolutionary circumstances have brought about the need for humans to question their reality" well... it's the same as eating a pizza instead of running a mile .... I eat the pizza personally, but I allso like to think about completely irrelevant philosophical things at least 5 times a day.
then again I'm a freak !
