Though the only females thatll probably attract are those that ask you to lie down on the couch to tell about your childhood. |

You guys are silly, hehe. Just try not to look at girls as potential girlfriends, we are just people.
And if you have a hard time approaching a girl, you can never go wrong with a simple compliment. Like the ones I get most are, "Cool shoes." or "I like your coat." Nothing sexual or flirty, but it's very flattering and it always makes me hold my head a little higher and I tend to talk about it when I get home
Here's an example of something you SHOULDN'T do, hehe:
I was sitting in front of the art room with my portfolio and a guy sat next to me and asked, "Are you an artist?"
"Yes, I am." *smile*
"Cool, I've always wanted to take an art class."
"The class here are great. You should."
"I have a cousin that's a really good artist. He's in jail for murder so he's has all this time to spend in his cell and draw pictures. Whenever I go to visit him he gives them to me."
"Ahh... heh... ummm... well, class is starting..."
Try and leave psychotic relatives OUT of your conversations! =)

so, guys. is there anything you would say to a girl about all this, maybe things you wish she wouldn't do? advice perhaps from one side to another? |
I don't think you really have to do much. Just keep smellin like you girls always do and givin little smiles that turns a guys heart (and knees, and tongue) to jello. if there's a nice guy you sort of like thats stumbling over his words and looks nervous in general.. ya know.. maybe help him along a little
jezebel guys, or atleast me, dont have any trouble talking to girls that they arent considering as a future girlfriend. when theres a girl we/i like though, it's mumbling idiot city.
there's this gorgeous girl, who's rather proper and well spoken, extremely intelligent. ive known her for 2 years from art. took me about a year and a half to where i can hold a relaxed chatty conversation with her. it's actually helped me a bit, i used to get super nervous and would be on idiot-auto-pilot. probably similar to the guy with the psychopath artist friend
[Edit: Ladies, while we have your attention is there anyway a guy can tell if your intersted in him if your just having a friendly conversation? any subtelties or anything?]

CapnPyro:
wow, that's pretty hard to answer. my girl friends complain sometimes that the guy 'doesn't get the hint' when they're really interested in him. funny how that works. as for guys detecting if you're interested in him, i think the guy should assume from the beginning that it's a friendly conversation. that way you can underestimate and be safe or something. i don't think most girls tend to be too expressive with things like this, at least i'm not.. if it really comes down to figuring out if the girl likes you from a conversation, pay attention to words and eyes. that's where i find myself leaking sometimes
and give her time. i think girls are slower and more slight than guys at the expression thing. we spot em quickly but study for a while

I've recently realized something about myself and it probably applies to many people out there...
Well, basically I like to talk. I believe I can hold up a nice session of small-talk and general gab without much of a problem. BUT, and this is the catch, I suck, I completely and utterly SUCK at starting conversations.
As I have a gf, I don't feel pressure when talking to other girls because I know I'm spoken for, and don't feel the need to impress them all over. But regardless, I am unable to begin a conversation, especially with people unknown to me (regardless of gender, btw).
This is going to be major problem for me in the near future, since I might be going to a foreign country with absolutely no ppl I know...
So boys and girls, how does one begin a conversation? With and without intent to take the relationship further?
Dumb question or what? :/ |

zero thats one of the easiest things there is to do. just be mister obvious. pick out the most obvious thing theyre looking at or doing. are they reading a map? say you new to (map name here). they drawing? say are you an artist? what kind, blah blah. if theres someone you have the desire to talk to for no reason, and theyre just sitting doing nothing at all. a 'hi hows it goin, my names countzero' should do. theyll prolly respond with theyre name, then you better have a quick follow up question or else a long uncomfortable pause is sure to ensue |
