Hey, I know excactly what you mean. I've posted pictures that I thought were incredible, but I only got 2 comments. Don't give up. Eventually it picks up, you'll see.
Speaking of comments, I like the purple in the armor, and I like where you put the sword. If I had to say something, it would be to create more overlap in the sword arm. Huh? Well, the fore-arm shows to much in this picture, it should hide behind the upper-arm more in order to look natural.
That's all that stands out for me right now. (that may be why you don't get to many comments, it looks just fine for the most part) |

Too terrible to comment on? No way. It's a good effort. I think armor is a real tough thing to illustrate, so you are to be commended. I don't think I'm really the one to critique the technical side of the armor. I will say that simplifying the reflection or "dulling it down" might help. Im distracted by the armor; I get lost in it.
The left arm may need some attention as well. I'm just ot sure what I'm seeing from the elbow to the wrist.
I just notice that the sword is see through. I can see the shield on the other side. Was this intentional? |

Yea, 3 comments Thanks guys!
Getupkid-The sheath isn't finished, I have it done on my other computer, but I can't access it right now. I wonder, should I make a background and add atmospheric tints? might spice up the image a bit. And yea, the sword arm is a bit not in form. hopefully I can fix it in the next post.
What do you think the background should be?I was thinking some ruins(brick buildings, grassland?)

Very nice. I like the design overall.
Except the butt-plates. They just seem... out of place.
His leggings also look a bit cumbersome (and difficult to get on!) Traditionally, from what I've seen, leg plates are either just plates in the front, or two-piece dealies that strap on in the front and the back, with no metal really between the legs. Of course, traditionally, the only people who really fought in armor like this were knights (on horses), so the leggings were made to fit that situation.
My one other comment would be that the lighting on the face looks a bit strange. You'd probably be able to see more of the side of his head and his ear. The shadow just seems to be coming from out of nowhere.
Otherwise, it's coming along very nicely. You've done an admirable job on the reflections. I'd like to see a more refined version!
