fightclub is one of the best pictures to come out around that time. and both pitt and norton are perfect for their roles, norton for his plain dilbert-y look and pitt for his outlandish looks (and frankly his acting style fit the charecter too)
I'm not big on analyzing movies, I do however think that the movie was a dark comedy, with a great deal of very true philosophy, ooh here's an Idea, new philosophy campfire!

My take on Manson: Brian Warner is genius - Piss parents off and most rebellious teens will go his direction. It's seems to still be working, too. I only like a few of MM's songs..and I agree that their cover of "Sweet Dreams" is good. You might want to hear The Cruxshadows' cover of "Here Comes the Rain Again."
Fight Club must be one of my favorite movies. Just the fact of catching new things the second time through shows that a lot of care was put into making it. [sounds and actions/events change. i.e. - when tyler and marla are having sex upstairs and narrator answers the phone..they become quiet] |

the guy is an over-rated untalented popstar, the only thing that seperates him from being a boy band is that he presents his band as a gayified version of satanic metal for pure shock value alone. the fact that the guy might be intelligent wouldnt effect the quailty (or lack) of his music.
all top 40 bands are shit. the reasons they are top 40 are not because they are talented, but because they have used the equation: make a song with 4 or 5 words repeated over and over and over and over again then mix it to a simple melody.
the fucking shit gets stuck in your head and before you know it your brainwashed. |

This is something I've noticed for some time... People racking down on popular music, saying that anything that's on the top 40 (I'm not pointing fingers here, heh heh) sucks.
Doesn't matter if it's in the "top 40". I don't give a monkey's thrice f***ked ass about who else listens to the music I like. If I, for some bizarre reason, would discover that I loved a number 1 hit - I'd listen to it.
The "I can't listen to popular music" attitude is really getting tiresome. Among the alternative circles, it's become so standard that...well... all of a sudden, that's the way you /have/ to think or people will look down on you. Seriously...
...If an alternative group suddenly gets popular... boom... there goes all the old fans because they can't stand not being original. Screw original Original is standing up for your own taste, whether it's on the top 40 or not. Hah.
Disclaimer:
No, I don't mean any insult to the people having mentioned this before me on this board - this really hasn't got that much to do with what they might actually think, just that... it reminded me a whole lot of how some of my very lame friends behave where music is concerned. No slight intended

"It stinks!" - The Critic
come on, seriously people, if a song's good, then it's not brainwashing.
some songs are formulaic, and tired (boy band love songs come to mind) they just have very little meaning, and are worthless for their lyrics.
that dosn't mean you have to hate them, unless you enjoy lyrics in songs.
all's I'm sayin's love the songs that turn you on, hate the ones that dont.
(I don't even judge bands anymore, heh half the songs I like I don't know the band that made them... thank you napster) |

I think they meant Radiohead wasn't crap. ..
I agree
But I just have to say that Marylin Manson is going to be just as dorky to listen to as Alice Cooper and Ozzy Osborne.
I should know MM is from my home town...???
But in a fight I would say that having a broken collar bone will affect the fight. Moby is a vegan but MM just drinks blood so I give the fight to Moby considering MM is dead already. hehe
Man I'd love to kick MM's skinny white butt.
I could sell tickets |
