Jason's thread reminded me of this kind of thing.
I remember a site from many years ago, it was called something like "The worlds worst uses of the lens flare", or "Great filter crimes." or something like that.
I had lists of really awful warezmonkey graphics with lots of stinging comentary. I think they had to stop running it because people were making really terrible rubbish on purpose just to make the list.
It was bloody funny anyway. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and where it is these days? |

just out of curiousuty..How long do people wait for replies? I am constantly seeing new stuff pop up, and the first comment is something like "okay, no replies" or "someone reply" or "that bad eh?".
That is usually followed by a crap load of new comments, and its the first time I've ever seen the thread! (I check back VERY often, so it can't be a time difference, because no one is that bloody impatient)
just curious. |

I usually give 24hrs or there abouts. but these days with the ammount of traffic, if there's a couple of lively threads and the usual count of new ones then you're off the front page an hour into peak time.
Such an amount of traffic would suggest that it's going to be necessary to give threads a little more time to have people look at them. But at the same time it means folks are more likely to expect a response sooner if at all and then worry about the thread going unnoticed an ending up down on page three with no replies and being forgotten.
The standard forum practice (and I believe it is this way, very much) of not commenting on pics/styles you don't like, looking out for the 'names' and only checking out threads that others are interested in (ie, stuff with replies already and the more the better) will have to shift a little with this many people visiting the place. |

We just need various other topic forums... and this one DID belong in the random musings where the pace is MUCH slower. It's a bit your fault, Muz |
