Many of you use Photoshop as the painting program, and Photoshop happens to have a feature to save copyright info in many img formats (including jpegs which is what you show us).
I save many of the beatiful art I see here in my HDD for personal staring, but pity the fact that, as my "collection" grows bigger, I lost track of who did what so that I can check his/her latest works.
I'd love if everyone used the File/Get info... feature. It is not such a pain in the a$$ since you can save that info in a file and then load it up so you do not retype the same all again and again. You can for example check the "copyright" checkbox, so when anyone opens the img in Photoshop it will feature the (c) before the name in the title bar, so that the watcher knows it is copyrighted. You can include just about every text you want, but there's even a section for a www link.
I think this feature is for the advantage of all, you as you credit your work and the rest as we keep track of you.

Aah, english: that obsolete and almost forgotten language...
Kuzya, it's easier than that and it is in Photoshop too. Menu File/File Info... with far more features and FREE (and it doesnot wear off).
You have to pay for watermarks (besides they are for a different use, watermarks are for security reasons). If I was professional I'd be using both things. File Info for complete PER-IMAGE description, credits (you might have just colored or illustrated one) and actually whatever text I want on that PARTICULAR image, and Watermarks so that no one steals my work.
But for the sane intention on just keeping track of your favourite artists I think File Info is far more useful for simple users like us (the observers, not creators). And you do not need a web connection.
(BTW, those fields in the File Info menu comply, according to the help file, to a standard set by the Newspaper Association of America (NAA) and the International Press Telecommunications Council (IPTC), not that I care at all but...)

Yeah I use the file info all the time. I find it particularly useful when using photos as you can embedd the source into the file, particularly if you have to go looking for it again in amougst lots of books.
