Hi..

Most of the stuff I've posted here are persoal work, so I kinda thought it would be nice to show you some of the stuff I do commercially... This painting was done for Lego. They wanted to change some of their material for their manuals, so me and another guy was contacted by an advertisingcompany to do a proposal on how the new material could look like... Kim Hagen(another guy from our studio did the layout and I did the painting)... This background was a part of a two spread painting... the other one similar in appearance.

heres a small version and a link below to a bigger sized (340kb and half the original size!)

;B

I like this one a lot. Very calm and peaceful...
Question: The link at the bottom is to a pic
that is 50% of the original size? What kind
of system do you use (resolution, etc.)

More, please.

toast! - yeah! those little men with the yellow heads that easily does a 360 degrees spin....scary! 8O

Rinaldo - thx!
Cybergod - photo?... life? we put in some very 2d'ish drawings of Legocharacters that were doing all sorts of things; digging after crystals, driving snowscooters and so on... The drawings ontop of the painted background gave a nicely animationstyle to it, I think...
The dude - thx. Yeah, the link is at 50% original size. We had to make the painting and characters printable at 300dpi so everything was highres. My system right now: PII350, 256 meg. ram and a speedy harddrive. Integraph graphicscard...I'll be upgrading to PIII800 (maybe dual) and Geforce DDR very soon... can't wait!

Great looking scenery. Perhaps it could use some more variation in colors. I would've added some more purplish tints here and there maybe..
Looking good anyway.

joachim - thx. Hope not to give anyone the impression that: I'm the scary pictures dude or the cute picture guy...ahh..well...

Rhomb - thx. Yeah I actually did put in some purple, but it just made the picture seem more warm.. Which was not what we wanted. So I added some lighter tones of blue..almost cyan in color... But you're right. more tones would have nice.

Now thats smooth and crisssssp, the blues cool (oh look a pun) and suits just nicely. A little lego scene would top it off but this is work so......you can't.

You seen how much lego is these days! (its hours of fun though, I still *check-up* on mine)

Flexible elf - thx
lukias - Well, we actually had small lego men in various situations placed all over the landscape... Could show you, if you wanted.
Bradford - Not a photo trace. Kim Hagen, whom is a colleque here at the studio, did a pencil sketch A3 sized. I then scanned it and painted over his layout in Photoshop. Kim has more than 10 years of experience in the animation industry as a layouter/animator, which clearly can be seen in his drawings. He now teaches animation at the only animation school in Denmark...

Wow! Nice one..
Really refreshing. I almost feel a menthol taste in my mouth by watching it

Too bad we did'nt meet in Denmark, but i think we're going to go to DK quite some times after Innerloop was bought by Visionpark.

Cheers,

Mikael
