Hey guys i have a problem. I wanted to get into digital art and stuff but i'm not to good at drawing. I wanted to make a skin for a dragonball z mod(better not make fun of it!). I'm also using photoshop. Don't expect too much from me a gr.8 drawer. Can someone try and do someonething with it and repost it. I want it too look like bid for power's dragonball z models before it switched themes. Well this is all i can do....

may I point out how amusing it is that you refer to bid for power before they switched themes, yet are making a DBZ mod? Do you not know WHY they switched themes?
From the Bid for Power FAQ
quote:
Didn't this used to be a Dragonball Z mod?
Yes it did, we worked for nearly two years on Bid For Power with Dragonball Z characters until Funimation and Infogrames sent us a cease and desist order. We now continue work on Bid For Power without the use of the DBZ brand.

It's just them.... They weren't suppost to have a site like that. They needed to check everything out at first and they didn't have any support for the mod. |

Ok I'm the wee BFP mapper person....
Hi keep in mind that our skinners (primarly Ansel and Rodney) have been skinning for years and do is as a career.
It just takes time to get good and be able to give it a professional look.
Anyways, I'm stoned. Night all! |

Hey, here's some steps on how I do skins, I know it's not too informative, I'll have to do a new skin tutorial one day... it's been a while, heheh. For the anime look you should probably go lighter on the shading and have a harder edge on the shades.. in DBZ (and most cartoons) the characters have a base color, a shadow color, and a highlight. Sometimes they throw in a deep shadow color. I'm sorry my examples below don't fit with the anime style but I had some of the steps saved so I figured I'd post 'em maybe they'll help a bit.
