I just wanted to know how you feel about this ambitious work Squarepicture has created. I mean, this is like the first all-computer generated full length film that is trying to achieve graphical perfection as well as other stuff, and I figured digital artists around the world are pretty excited about this aren't they?
I've seen the trailers and although it is difficult to make out the quality of it by looking through a tiny little computer screen with my slow computer the movie looks awsome.
Any comments about this?
(P.S - I'd like to see Square Soft go bankrupt. That would be funny) |

I don't think they used enough computer power though ;)
It's a "Rendering Farm" which consists of 1,160 CPU's. It includes, and I quote "960 933MHz Pentium III systems with 768MB of RAM each, plus 150 Silicon Graphics Origin 200 systems with 4GB of RAM each. |

A gamer can only imaging the frame rate you would get while playing Quake 3 everthing on full omg the amazing speed the happiness of all children amazing...
all in all I bloody hate the game, played it for 5 minutes got bored shit and the bloody fightng style pissed me off to a further extent...
I'll watch the movie, I alwayz love the visual aspect of a movie

Bishop_Six--Haha!!! LOL! Seriously, I actually grew up on a rendering farm. It was pretty tough work, getting up at o'dark-thirty to milk to parrallel port dongles and clean the stalls, but all in all, it was a good place to be a child. Saturday mornings we would swing from the fluorescent light fixture in the barn on an old 8086 strung up by it's cables. We'd play hide and seek in the CPU cabinets until one of us tripped a breaker and Mom drive us out of the room with her old track ball. Yup, those were the days. . . |

200 artist from 20 different countries worked for three years to make this movie and none of them remembered to turn on the collision avoidance for her sleeve. (Photo from Wired magazine, July 2001.)
But I'll still go see it! |
