this is a graphic i did for a friend's website. i was trying to get the feeling of a glow from the computer with out losing the form of the character. hmph.



this is a picture i did of matt... i suppose you guys know him as isric. i've only painted a little bit for real. i really wish i had taken more chances to do it. as is. i tend to treat all my stuff like colored pencils :/ oh well. hopefully i'll get over that.



and this is... well... it's titled strangeness. it's basically just me messing around more in photoshop. trying to get a feel for colors and such. drawing a big nose... i love big noses :P

I think all of these pieces show great talent. Surely more than I have, but here we go anyway...

The first one: nice and stylish. I have worked some with that kind of "comic-book" lightning also, and as you say it's often easy to loose the form of the character... I personally think that you could have done the linework close to the monitor even thinner compared to the shadows.

The second: yay! I don't know why, but I get the feeling that he's gonna assault me! For some reason this work triggered the "bastard-alert" in my head... I can easily imagine a lead pipe in the hand belonging to that face. Sorry Isric, I'm sure you're a nice guy! The painting as such is lovely, but what you said about colored pencils shows through I think... oh, and the eyes seem dark and lifeless somehow. Sparkle? Still, it kind of has a nice effect... Don't care much for the background tho.

The third piece: Wow. This just screams psychedelica. You have a very interesting way of doing line-shading that I have not seen before (on the nose), cool. The skill you show regarding the human face is awesome. That guy sure dosen't seem too happy about the way he looks...
