Cool blue was lots of fun and also drove me totally insane. It's my best piece to date. This was done in Adobe Photoshop freehand using my graphics pad. It's taken me 18 1/2 hours to complete. The hair alone took me 5 hours. This was modeled after a local fitness mag off the cover. I saw it and liked the power she put forth. The "model" was orgionally blond but I desided to play around with the colors and shades of blue started coming out and I went with it.

i could dig this. but it's not really my thing... too smooth. i like rough art. (is that a metaphor for life? if it isn't, i don't know what is)
but the hands. good god the hands. expertly rendered. truly well done. since there really isn't much one can say about something that is so superb... i'm gonna nitpic. HA!
yeah... see that fuzz next to her left breast... yeah... could have done without THAT! :P but honestly, it looks like you took a lot of time on the body and all that... but it seems as though you skimped out on the clothing. just my opinion.
have a good day. |

Since you complained about the lack of constructive criticism about your last post (the witchy woman) I will take a close look at this piece and give you my very honest opinion, for whatever is worth.
First I will say that this is a very good pin up, much better than most of this kind of stuff I've seen. I disagree that this is your strongest piece to date though, I liked the above mentioned one more, it had much more emotion to it. This one is your standard Maxim cover "you know you want me" kind of thing (but I know this stuff sells).
Ok, so... I think that the head seems a tad too big and her body a little short. The ends of the hair bug me, they seem way too strong and stiff. They look as if they are suspended in the air as opposed to flowing. The white highlights on her cheeks and her thighs look pasty and unnatural, the ones on her arms and hands are superb. There isn't enough definition on the pelvis and thighs so they look almost flabby which I am certain isn't the case with a magazine cover girl. As Hamilton said hands are amazingly well done, however they are much more realistic than the rest which takes an almost graphic quality, especially the hair. Compared to the hands the rest looks unfinished. The edges of the whole piece seem too sharp and make her look as if cut out and pasted onto this blue background, although that might have something to do with the resolution. And I would either add a little more of that background above her head or crop the image down so it cuts the top of the hair. This way it creates an uncomfortable narrow space, a tangent of a sorts. (some basic compositional theory)
Anyhow, I have a problem with critiquing, as I start feeling like an asshole, especially since I do like your work. I think that a few more hours on this would make it technically awesome. As I started saying above I like stuff with more emotion or indication of a story to it. This kind of work gets boring fast, that is why I could stare at your witchy woman for hours and this keeps my attention for a few minutes only.
Ok I hope this helps and doesn't make you mad too much.
Oh yeah, that tattoo is great, the way you handled it that is. |

Looks great, but her lower body doesn't seem to be as well developed as the upper(?) |

I could crit this but instead am going to give it plenty praise.
Hands=OH MY GOD!@
The look in her eye's is also very sexy that *you know you want me but you can't have me look* going down there.
I really like the depth on the hair except the ends.
The little tattoo(?) on the bellybutton is sekzi
It's really nice all in all but there are places you can really touch up on this puppy as stated above and it would be really amazing stuff |

thanks for the critiques. I think the stomach lost a bit of definition with the tattoo but I can see where I can add some more definition to her stomach with the hips along the panty line. For the hair, I'm not sure what I can do to make it look better. After 5 hours working on the hair, I gotta sorta bored with it. I also lost the origional in a hard drive crash so I can't really work on this one anymore I'm waiting on a disk recovery program a friend is sending me to see if I can't recover it. |

Egads, Natasha! Great work! I have nothing to critique, because I can't do as well myself. Keep up the great work! |

Hi DarkGoth, I have also used Photoshop to correct color levels, hue and other things, love putting distorted pictures back to normal... Hope you don't mind. Regards.

HAHA! Actually that looks really cool! Too bad it's more distorted. But I like the coloring. |

So.. hard.. to.. type. with one hand! Heh, jk people The hand, omg are so realistic. I reeally liked the pic with the adjusted color levels (so it looked normal), it made it appear to be a photograph. SIgh, time to go back to my sad lil' corner, where great talent like this doesn't roam. |
