on both the coloring is a little flat, especially the first guys hair. the second one his eyes and eyebrow are too high, the horns are funny lookin.
i like the technique used on the face of the first guy |

hey rhomb, nice stuff man.
first one is really cool, like it alot, nice colour variation and construction to the face, reminds me alot of Kevin Walkers 'Dan Dare' style, in 2000ad.
Second is pretty cool, tho I prefer the style of the first one more. Maybe could used some colour variation too, to make it a bit more interesting. like the shapes of shadows and light you made. |

Oscar's rating: 9/10
Awesome mate!! Love the style. Never tried using such short brush strokes. Painter, right?
Very neat indeed

Jezebel: I tried to keep it simple. Thank you!
Dr.Zulu: Thanks!
ancient skeleton pirate: Yes, I didn't pay much attention to his hair, could have defined it little better. Horns, eyebrows.. ok, noted down. Thanks for commenting.
Cos: Thanks Cos. You're right, I guess the second turned a bit too monochromatic. I did a search for Kevin Walker on the net and found some covers he did for 2000ad. Didn't found anything else, but most of the covers did look damn good. He seems to have gotten better? I only have the old "Judge Anderson: Childhoods End", it's quite good but the quality of Kev's art in it varies quite drastically from page to page.
oscar: Hey I'm oscarrated. Thanks! It's Painter alright.

The dark outline on the first one bothers me a bit but that's just a minor thing. Very good job on both paintings in my opinion, Rhomb. |

Good point Ripelly, the outline flattens the image, when I look at it now. Thanks =).
