hello,
i was trying out my brothers new digital camera and took a few pictures of some pictures i did that were too big to fit on the scanner. I could scan them in pieces, but that's annoying.
C&C the first if you'd like
the first pic was done for english class. T'was fun. It was a 50 point project and I had less than a school week to do it, so it was kind of rushed. If you have a hard time seeing the details or want me to scan it in to get better details, then ask this pic is very rushed. i mean, it took about 5 hours. usually a picture like this, done on 11 x 14 bristol board and completely shaded, would take at least 10. As you can see I didn't fully draw Death and I didn't draw what's outside of the window. That's because I drew that part the night before it was due at 11:00 pm. very rushed.
no need to C&C the second picture
the second picture was a painting i did back at the beginning of summer. yeah, it's old, but i never got to scan it in. Yeah, i know, it's only half done. But that's because i knew i could do better. Especially the guys anatomy. But I'm still proud of the horses, I think they look nice.
i put them both on one image.
btw, sorry, the flash kinda messed up the first picture :-\ the darkest part of the picture is now the lightest, and part of the guy is also taken up by the glare http://www.geocities.com/keith_patton_2000/macbethandhalfpainting.jpg
and here's the original sketch for the painting. it's about 7 months old, no sense C&Cing http://www.geocities.com/keith_patton_2000/forpaintingsmall.jpg |

The drawing reminds me of some gothic european comic or something. I think you could've centered the picture in the shot and cropped it in some photo-editing program. The grim reaper traditionally has a scythe, not a poleaxe by the way. The scythe is symbolic to his harvest of souls. He doesn't really kill people he just comes for their soul whan their time has come. Or so he tells me
The painting looks pretty interesting but I can't really give any critique on it, sorry. |
