or perhaps don't use a web browser that generates popup ads out of the blue.. or perhaps just don't install/gather every possible spyware leech into your IE..

Run THIS application and have it search for spyware. Your computer obviously has some.

I'd also recommend not using Internet Explorer as your main browser. Since I switched over to Firebird, I've not had any problems with pop-ups or shady ActiveX programs. There are a handful of websites that Firebird doesn't render correctly, but in those cases, it's easy enough to just switch back to IE temporarily.

And it's only 6.8 megs. It goes very easy on system resources, and will automatically import all of your IE bookmarks.

Highly recommended.

balistic said everything I was planning to say, which saves me the energy I would've used typing it all out.

I'm extremely lazy.

Or use crazybrowser in those cases.

http://www.crazybrowser.com

It's based on IE afaik but it has a tabbed interface and a popup filter too.
Filesize is less than 1MB if I remember correctly.

Yeah, don't use another browser, just buy another computer. Jeez. Next thing you know people will want to refill the gas tank instead of buying a new car.

And for the record, there are some pages that IE won't render correctly, but in those cases it's easy enough to stay in Firebird Smile

And check out the extensions!
