Who would have guessed that when you remove Garfield from the Garfield comic strips, the result is an even better comic about schizophrenia, bipolor disorder, and the empty desperation of modern life? Friends, meet Jon Arbuckle. Lets laugh and learn with him on a journey deep into the tortured mind of an isolated young everyman as he fights a losing battle against lonliness in a quiet American suburb. |

hehe, I remember there also being some where Garfield was still there but his dialogue removed- Jon is a sad, strange guy. |

A guy on another forum mentioned that this reminded him of Fight Club.
So I guess Jon has just been talking to himself all these years. |

I thought the whole idea was that Jon and Garfield really DON'T communicate, and that the dialog between them was really Jon imagining Garfield's response.
Or have I gotten it wrong all these years? |

Possibly you're right, but let me just throw in that the comic is way funnier now that there's no Garfield in it. I never understood how one could find Garfield funny. He's an arrogant fat prick with no sense of humor whatsoever. This is great. _________________ CA SB|Flickr |

Hmm, I dont think that he was imagining it. It was Garfield thinking it, but we could see it and Jon couldnt.... maybe. Or did he react to Garfield's thoughts, I dont remember. He reacted to the actions of course.
I would have to examine those again. |
