a couple of pears using oil paint - 6" x 6". I'm just getting into oil painting PADs (Painting A Day). There are a number of advantages - small, inexpensive, lots of room to experiment, and fruit and vegetables will not spoil - can be eaten after posing. The pears were delicious.

Duane Keiser is generally considered the daddy of PADs. He also does very well selling them on eBay.

Painting a day is a rough translation for small paintings done fast... Shocked

Each probably has his own MO... mine is to do a quick setup underpainting using an overnight drying medium (Graham's Walnut/Alkyd) and then finish the next morning or so using a three day drying medium (Amber/Walnut/Canada Balsam). Sometimes it takes longer if there are other things going on, like parties, receptions, dates... whatever. Nov 7 was one of those days. Cool

Seriously, I thought we were going to be treated to an Eyewoo flood of daily paintings. So its really Painting In A Day, occasionally.

Yup... and some get spread over a few days, but the total time on any of them is less than a working day - mostly. Shocked

Should have another one up today sometime... Then I have a couple of days of building work in my new studio - a raised platform... then back to painting... life Arrow
