I'm sorry if this has been asked before, i started looking through the messages on the search thing but there were many many of them and now of the ones that i had looked at thus far asked what i am going to ask...this is the first time i have visited your site and i am in awe...i dont think that i will ever look the same at the art that i have made...i noticed that you make alot of fantasy looking artwork...i was wondering where you get your insperation for your art...do you like fantasy, do you read books such as dragonlance, Tolkiens Lord of the Rings...i was just wondering cause some of your art reminds me alot of what i thought some of the characters in those books might look like...
thank you for your time in reading this...
Great Work!!!!

I never liked fantasy...Skulls, Barbarians
and Dragons-they make me puke. Don't get me
wrong, there's a lot of talented artists
that makes fantastic things and are higly skilled artists, but the motives i think is
really dull."Naked lady hanging on to Conans
leg on a hill of skulls"..Gimme a break!
Just my opinion

Damn micke you make me wanna puke!! hehe jk ;D but seriously I love that stuff. My biggest inspiration has gotta be Simon Bisley who does alotta that kinda stuff, its like really way over the top super musclebound demons crushing way over the top super musclebound demons errr, yeah so if you like a realism then you'd probably wanna leave that alone He's done lotsa fantasy, sci-fi horror which has influenced me tonnes. Hmm I has a link for his work somewhere...
Also other artist's like Glenn Fabry and Frank Frazetta and HR giger but I think the Biz had the main influence.
ok heres a link for some of his work,

likely you already know it but if u don't then enjoy, or hate it, its all the same to me ;D

Hey Scooby -- haven't seen you around lately. =]
I don't think Micke meant it like that, but he's just sharing his personal tastes in art. =) Vebjorn is an awesome artist which deserves much respect IMHO.
Micke: kind of makes me feel guilty for drawing some of that fantasy stuff...

Fantasy is good to some extent.
Barbarians, elves etc are fine.
I however dislike the type of _fantasy_ when you see naked/scantly clad women running around fighting monsters its degrading to women imo. but im sure alot of you disagree.
btw i mean no offence to anyone just stating my opinion.

I'm sorry if i offended anyone!I totally took of in my last reply here. my excuse.
Frost is right, it's just my personal taste.
Nothing more. I love Bisley and Frazetta, They are both wonderful artists and Vebjrn knows how i feel, he's an old colleague of mine.I know him. He too is very talented
I'm not looking down on any artist for doing
fantasy. It's not about that at all.
And i'm not saying that i only like realism either, i like every kind of style. It's just that i'm a bit tired of the cliche's of fantasy, and i guess you know what i mean. It's more like: If i could choose, i would'nt do it. Just my taste.
Thank you for your time

I've never been offended by Conan. I always thought that the 'naked lady hanging onto Conan's leg' was just angling in so she could spear him in the goolies. Must have a suspicious mind. |

Music is one of my big insperations too. i was just wondering cause i also like to read and the people\things that i read about resemble alot of the things that i see posted around the net, and just for everyones information, i dont really picture the ppl in fantasy books that i read as big huge ppl, i look at them as an average person...it is funner that way

I don't really look at other art for inspiration...I would say alot of my inspiration comes from music...Classical music...Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Holst...
If I would have to name two artists that have genuinely influenced my work, it would be Esher and Vallejo.
