You should post that other stuff then, and not this. If it's not to show what you're trying to do, then why post it at all?
From a critique standpoint, you'd be better off posting your overall animation with all the keys and timing. Then, when you have the tweens, post them. And then, when you have the clean up, post that.

Mozeman: could you make a small animation tutorial? I have no experience in 2d animation, and would like to get some. How do you start out? Do you use a table with lights in it? What frames do you do first? Any other useful information would be appreciated!

Pst;
What would you like to see specifically? Animation is a broad topic to cover. I'm glad to help, but in what direction are you trying to go?
Perhaps I can post a "bouncing ball" tuturial. It's the simplest test that covers the widest range of techniques. Is that something that would interest you?

Ahhh! Not the bouncing ball!
Good grief, my cursor keeps skipping while I'm typing this because of that animation.

The best tutorials always illicit the panicked screams of agony.
One tutorial coming up! Heh.

mozeman that's a great suggestion! I use 3d studio max and character studio to animate characters and i have never thought about that! I'm gonna have to try it some time =) And if it helps i'll definatly stick with it |

What kind of class is this? Is it animation?
As an animator myself, I think you are approaching this in the most difficult possible way. Character animation should be about starting big and going small. In other words, start with the overall basic action, and then work your way down to the details.
Walk cycles being one of the most basic excercises, here's now I would approach it.
1) Start with your key frames. For 17 frame walks (on twos), you should start with frame 1 (legs farthest apart), frame 9 (legs apart, opposite), and frame 17 (same as 1).
2) Next add your breakdown keys: Frame 5 (legs at their crossing point), and frame 13 (legs at crossing point, opposite legs).
3) Last, tween drawings 3, 7, 11, and 15.
Don't forget the bounce in the step.
Hope this helps. Believe me, it will go faster and easier.
