i love this stlyle, the strokes are as free as the movement of the bird, you just got to make the colors stand out more.

as a first try that is amazing -- higher the saturation a bit though. Great emotion. I'd say his head is way too high above his forehead, but maybe thats just me.

thats a huge sun, what i would suggest is to have the early dawn lights of the sun shine from under the horizon to the dark gray clouds above.
