The Intuos 2 is really good. I got the 6" x 9" one. A bit expensive at $350 but well worth it.

There are a set of CD's for $10 a piece called "Visual Reference for Comic Artists" So far there is volume 1 and 2. Each one has 500-600 images of people, buiildings, weapons etc. Very worth the money ...

The Pantone Tria's are great and you can find them cheaperthan 4.99 on the net. Also look into Copic Markers at www.bluelinepro.com. Very popular with manga artists.
